Woman Sues Over 'Girls Gone Wild'

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A woman who bared her breasts at Mardi Gras and got worldwide exposure has sued the producers of the ``Girls Gone Wild'' videos, claiming they invaded her privacy and used her image without permission.

Becky Lynn Gritzke, a Florida State University business major, admits in her lawsuit that she was among the women who removed their tops at Mardi Gras last year in exchange for beads and trinkets.

A month later, Gritzke said, she was surprised to find out that she not only appeared in the video series featuring women baring their bodies, but was also seen in the TV ad and Web site.

Gritzke is seeking unspecified damages.

Ronald E. Guttman, an attorney for MRA Holdings LLC, the video's producers, said there is no privacy protection for people who take their clothes off in public, especially at a big public event where many people have cameras.

Guttman has asked a Florida court to dismiss the lawsuit, which was filed in September.

It's a shame to see that what goes on in the French Quarter is what people think happens all over town. Every year, we have kids ages 18 months - 13 years at our house for several days (with parents, of course) to watch the parades. We have never had a problem. If you want to see sex in the street, go to the Quarter. If you want to see kids on Dad's shoulder's having a great time, come to my house. But please don't assume that just because it's happening in the Quarter, it's happening in the rest of the city.

I think this is her...looks like she's having a good time to me. Definately not "just flashing for beads".

I fully agree, the parades don't do donuts around the Quarter, they do have fairly lengthy routes. I've always had a good time in Nawlins, and I've never had any trouble (expect getting my car broken into and having all of my beer stolen). However, I'd never be naive enough to be in the Quarter all night and not expect to witness weird stuff. Transvestites, gays, and nekkid women abound, and that's part of the 'show'. And the police give quite a bit of latitude, but when it's over, it over, and you'd best skeedadle, or risk a boot in the back (I've had two--from horse-mounted policemen). Fun's fun, but it doesn't last all year.

She is a business major and made a trade like that? Did she learn nothing in the history lessons where the Indians traded Long Island for beads and trinkets?"

What a boob!

She is just framing the objects being photographed. I am sure she was just being helpful.

Don't you agree?

Thanks for the investigative work, we owe you a debt of appreciation!

Well, I'll admit that I've viewed this tape. A buddy of mine ordered it on a whim off the TV (Really! I'm married with a daughter, can't have that at my house, now).

It's endless shots of drunk southern chicks showing their boobs at either Mardi Gras or Panama City or some other place. I mean, literally thousands and thousands of boobs. It's interesting and funny at first (where do these gals come from?), but it becomes boring and a little bit sad before long.

Girls do dumb and foolish things when they're drunk and having a good time. I'll bet the vast majority of these gals captured on the videos are ashamed and wish desperately they could take it back. I don't know about the lawsuit, but I know they never planned to be used by sleaze merchants so that millions of horny guys could get off endlessly to their most embarrassing moment. I feel kinda bad for them, and guilty for viewing it.

Also, since the guys producing the video didn't ask for releases, how many of them are underage?
