Sen. Clinton says White House should turn over Enron documents By SHANNON McCAFFREY Associated Press Writer January 22, 2002, 12:13 PM EST WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, who as first lady fought her share of battles over the release of documents, said Vice President Dick Cheney should release records Congress is seeking on the administration's energy policy meetings and Enron. "I think the request from the Congress should be dealt with," the New York Democrat told The Associated Press. She said the Clinton White House "certainly ended up dealing with a lot of requests and at the end of the day people could draw their own conclusions and I think that's what the public deserves." President Clinton and the first lady were investigated frequently by Congress on issues ranging from their failed Whitewater land deal, firings in the White House travel office and the president's affair with intern Monica Lewinsky. Prosecutors and congressional investigators were met with varying degrees of cooperation from the Clintons. Whitewater-related billing records from Hillary Clinton's Rose Law Firm were discovered by an aide in the White House living quarters some two years after they had first been subpoenaed. Cheney has said he met half dozen times with Enron executives while formulating the Republican administration's energy plan but has refused to turn over records of those and his other meetings on the plan. Last week, Clinton said she was donating almost $8,000 in contributions from Enron and its accounting firm Arthur Andersen LLP to an employee fund set up to help Enron employees. Clinton received $950 from Enron employees, according to an analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics. Her office said she also received $7,000 in donations from employees of Arthur Andersen. At the end of the day, the conclusion I drew was that when it came to stone walls, the Clinton administration put up a bigger one than China has.

This is the woman that watched as Vince Fosters office was emptied. This woman watched as Democrats donors fled the country when subpoenaed by congress. She watched as whitehouse staffers memories became muddled and hazy under questioning from congress. Let her reveal the lists on Commerce trip aircraft trips for her husband and how much each seat on the Ron Brown trips cost Enron and many others. Did Hillary Clinton charge corporations $50,000 per seat on Commerce trips and slide it into her husbands election? Let us have the Senator Hillary information first. We have been waiting for years. In other words..you first Hillary...

Shredding, lying and deleting entire computer systems while under subpoena is nothing new to any Clinton staffer or cabinet member.

Enron learned from the Clinton whitehouse how it is done.

A question has come up at work and a Hillary thread should be a good place to ask.

Did Hillary actually call for repealing and/or deferring the remainder of the tax cuts, or has she just grumbled about them without being specific about repeal? I.e., is she being an honest liberal on this, like Ted Kennedy (give him his due), or a doubletalker, like Daschle?

Anyone have a link to her statement on this? Thanks.

At the end of the day, I'd say this statement is one of the most pointless, meaningless things I've ever heard. Notice how she somehow managed to say absolutely nothing here.

Also, whose favorite answers are:

I cannot recall....I do not recall....I have no memory of....

Remember the press conference she held after Pardongate? Rush made a great montage of her answers.

Apparently, irony did not die on 9/11.

Memo to "Senator" Clinton: Shut up, you dried up old power whore.

One can count of Hillary to speak up on topics for which she is the best example of the opposite.

Gee, Hillary, could you be more stupid? New Yorkers should be ashamed of themselves for electing the dishonest duo of Senators.

Heck, I would be even happier if the White House turned over THE CLINTON PAPERS and evidence they are sitting on, thus protecting Klink from prosecution! (Does the term "Aegean stables" ring a bell?) First things first -- THEN we can deal with any improprieties which may have occurred in the current administration.

This has probably been discussed in great detail on other threads, but why doesn't the vice-president release his papers? If there is nothing controversial, it would greatly benefit him and would be the antithesis of the Clinton administration....

Sen Clinton says White House should turn over Enron documents

"Senator" Hitlery Clinton wrote the book about document release delay, shredding, perjury under oath, document 'misplacement', and etcetera.

George W. Bush should read that book and follow all the advice contained therein.
