Amen.
"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." -- Mark 9:23
And if we can believe, it is only through the gift of God's grace upon the fallen sinner.
First grace; then belief. Otherwise it's a work of man's ability to believe; something none of us has unless and until He turns us from darkness towards the light.
Salvation is all of God, and none of us; or else it isn't mercy, it's payment due for service (belief) rendered.
Faith is the evidence of our salvation; not a requirement for it.
That's the difference between being saved by faith and being saved by grace through faith.
Has anybody who claims that their faith/belief precedes salvation/regeneration bothered to explain how they pulled off this stunt despite Jeremiah 9:17 and Proverbs 28:26?
It seems they only have three verses that they like to trot out (and always out of context - must be a requirement) Joshua 24:15 (...choose you this day...), John 3:16 (...whosoever believes...) and 2 Peter 3:9 ("..not wanting any to perish...") and then abandon out there undefended, as if just merely uttering these verses somehow silence the balance of Scripture that teaches man's inability.
