Some FReepers have nicks that are obvious in their origin, others don't. I've seen several that probably have interesting stories behind them.
I thought it would be cool to see where FReepers get their handles from. If you don't like this topic, DON'T POST HERE! No one forces you to read this. I'm sure other people may be interested. If I'm the only one, let me know so I can crawl away in shame.

Some of us just use our real name. In my case it is amusing since I used to have guys all the time trying to pick me up and I happen to be an old guy with a beard.

"Can't get much better than that."
I just realized that we're arguing apples and oranges. Different powers and enemies. Different time eras. I just hope that some girls and woman understand that they may have to learn to fight their own battles and to be strong.

In 1896 the name of the community was changed to "Roscoe. " (Presumably Roscoe Blvd. got its name because it went to Roscoe.) There is speculation that the name for the community came from a railroad employee by the name of Roscoe, who was killed in a train wreck during a train robbery near Sunland Blvd. and San Fernando Road. It has also been suggested that the name was for the famous actor, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, after he had made movies on location in the area.

Answering that question about the pirates in Shakespeare is probably why I became Captain Roger Read. I still think it's a Pansy @ss name.

Thanks, CSM. Still, that rank is a rare distinction among veterans. Good to cyber-meetcha.
