Some FReepers have nicks that are obvious in their origin, others don't. I've seen several that probably have interesting stories behind them.
I thought it would be cool to see where FReepers get their handles from. If you don't like this topic, DON'T POST HERE! No one forces you to read this. I'm sure other people may be interested. If I'm the only one, let me know so I can crawl away in shame.

Mine's pretty simple.
It's a nickname I earned on the jobsite:
C(rusty)O(ld)B(astard). I had to have the "1" to have enough digits.

And they probably still don't get it. Maybe they figured you were a fashion statement. Liberals never get anything. How boring.

Did your brother ever find out what happened to his El Camino.

I have the cutest little 6-and-three-quarters-year-old FReeperette twins! :-) They helped at several FR protests last year in DC, and somewhere there is a picture of them in the protest reports holding a sign that says "Al Gore You Lost Get Over It!"
And obviously, I'm their mommy.
twinzmommy, and yes, we homeschool too.

Good on you saving the cat. I've had a couple, although my favorite still lives with my ex-wife (American domestic short-hair...black and big, about 15 pounds with no fat). I've had dogs too...my favorites being the rescued guided missiles on paws called greyhounds. Who needs to hunt with a gun when you have a gazehound? That's nothing against guns...I've done my share of small game hunting in the backwoods.

True story. (No, really!) It took me three years to sign up because I couldn't think of a suitable screen name. I've got a drawer(s?) full of unused screen names which can be yours for a small fee. I finally decided to use my real name which you now see. As I said, that movie is based on a true story

For those who don't know Vermont lets the odd couples marry. After getting teased quite a bit in other places online I took this name.

One of my favorite business associates tagged me with this handle. It was an insider joke, because I became more fully myself after I had my child than when I was footloose and fancy free.Life had a purpose again, and he understood I had a good reason to sell myself into "pink collar slavery".Most of my other associates thought I went downhill, financially and personally.
My everyday, unexciting normal life is worth more to me than the "big" money.I now work for a living, I dont live to work.Still a registered Republican.

Haven't seen her in a while. I don't know. I'm on vacation, so I've seen lots of people pop up, but not her.
