The wise man wrote his words upon the rocks...
But MUD's not bound to follow suit!!

Slick's sorry...Left's sorry...

Med'yuh never called!! MUD waited for Left's calls...
Left's lies and mis-directions are driving US away!!
Then Limbaugh sang...Left's Brain-washin' washed away...

The 1994 election was a great revelation to me... I had seriously considered not even voting- the clintons & their worshippers in the media had so discouraged me. But I did, and apparently many other Americans also agreed with me- for a brief while it looked like the "tantrum" would change the way the country was headed. A thousand pities the Repubs lost courage.

"I'm seriously considering turning over a new leaf and checkin' out the Richmond NASCAR Race this year...the least I can do is go hang out on a Friday for the qualifyin'!!"

It's an excellent way to idle away an afternoon, Mud.
My Angel & I like hangin' at Indy for the Brickyard 400 qualifying.
As for the race?
Wayyyy too many people at Indy for our tastes; but, RIS's *ideal*

"Reckon I'm gonna haveta figger out a favorite or three...I like Dale, Jr., that Harvick young'un, and Ricky Rudd (a Tidewater boy)!!"

Jr's not a bad kid; given the fame & wealth he grew-up around?
That old man of his when alive kept the kid's ears pinned-back.
Not a bad choice; & if ya drink Bud...well.

Keven Harvick's my kinda kid, though.
Mean, aggressive, imp-like & quick...good with the Ladies, too; why you oughta see the eyes of his li'l Fox sparkle when this kid's close. Whoaaa ~smokin!
Methinks this year someone's gonna paste the impudent SOB in the chops, too.
Of course, AFTER Kevin's won the race they lost?
This young man HAS the brass ring in his hand; he'll get in your face & TAKE that win unless you fight for it.
People don't like that kind of competitor because...they're winners in an American sorta way? ;^)

Ricky Rudd?
Think about that choice, my friend.
He drives a Yate's gas-guzzler Ford, "Flying Carp" Taurus; & really is, an old man in a young man's sport.
Ford spells loser as it is; add age to the mix & it's guarenteed.
This year Ford will garner *lots* of 2nd Place finishes which any race fan will tell you is, The First Loser. :o)

Take a closer look at the stable of drivers the other Chevrolet teams are fielding.
Pay particular attention to the #4 Kodak Chevrolet, at that.
The #4 team is due for a huge comback.
Robby Gordon driving for the great Richard Childress would also be someone to keep a sharp eye on, too.
This guy's so hungry you'd better keep your hands off the table if he's gonna be sitting at it havinf dinner with ya.
You'll sure to lose 'em, otherwise. ;^)

Glad to see you're at least open to the venue, my friend.
The BEST way to to enter the sport of professional automobile racing is preferrably, with an experienced fan btw, IMO.

LOL...obviously I'm a racing neophyte when I cannot seem to grasp the all-importance of driving a Chevy versus a Ford or a Pontiac, which you've made abundantly clear each and every time the subject has been broached.

Be patient, it might take a while...MUD

"You'd be crushin' skulls and whuppin' arse in no time, dude..."

Yea...there's the chink in the plan.
Got to work on that propensity of mine, dude.
Snatch&crush~snatch&crush~snatch&crushing my days away.

As for that LL asshole??
Tell you what; you go into battle with me, see their flag bearer?
You'd best take 'em out, Mud; without prejudice.
That imbecile showed-up here flying enemy colors, & I reacted accordingly.
What & how you & the forum management handle matters with one of these scuzzes?
As far as I'm concerned; that's your business, entirely.
There's that damned individuality thing, again.

...but I'd have to say, now; I wouldn't really be secure going into a battle with you, my friend -- any battle.

The tack & approach used in engine design, that of making power, & component longevity is attained by the manufacturers Ford, GM, (and now) Dodge?
The methods & approach are as different as night is from day.
That's what the fighting's all about; & as I said?
Would take a seasoned fan; preferrably one skilled in engineering concepts & design, to shed the proper light on these aspects; for & to an Archetect, anyway. {g}
Not to worry; I did it with a MSN & the process is an ongoing one.

...driver, team owner, chassis builder, crew chief & team all figure-in to the equation, too.

...I'm thinking We need to start a grassroots push towards Nationalizing the MidTerm elections with something akin to the '94 Contract With America...."

OK. Here's the strategy:

1. FReepers will identify from all the possible seats in the congress and senate that are now occupied by 'Rats, but are possibly winnable by a conservative this Fall and present to the Board (All FReepers) their list of nominees for support.
2. Each of these races must have a provable conservative candidate selected to run against the 'Rat.
3. The FReeper that is nominating to the Board will submit a bio on their candidate for the Board's review.
4. The Board will whittle the potential candidates down to the best 10 or 12 in the country. That means the candidate must have outstanding conservative credentials, and must in the Board's estimate, have real potential to actually win the 'Rat-held seat.
5. We have a FReepaton to raise money and support for "our" candidates.
6. Those FReepers living in those districts will work extra hard with special local FReep activities and campaigning and GOTV efforts.
7. We win up to 8 of these seats!!
8. And we are well on our way for the next election, because our methodology will be in place.
It's a "strawman" so kick at it to improve it.

A good start. Now we find out which of these have true conservatives running against them that have a better than remote chance of winning with our help. We research those candidates and find the best ones to devote a FReep effort to. We have to be very selective and put our resources where we have the best chance of winning and where the GOP candidate has demonstrated that he/she is not a RINO. We will not be able to effectively target every seat held by a 'Rat, else we spread ourselves too thin.

These look to be the place to start. Is there anyone more clueless than Landrieu in the entire senate? Whos is running against her? Jay Rockefeller can be beaten by Jay Wolfe. I think there is a thread for Wolfe on FR that we need to check out. They cannot find a good candidate to run against Baucus after Raciot became GOP head, so that may be a tough one. The Johnson seat is winnable - who's the oppposition? Likewise Cleland.

I don't know about Johnson but can find out easily enough, I've got family land and friends just across the state line in Wyoming, close enough to Rapid City that a lot of the family shopping is done there.

But so far as Max Cleland's race in Georgia, Robert Barr has been mentioned as a possible opponent, as have representatives Saxby Chambliss, Johnny Isakson, Jack Kingston and Charles Norwood. The Georgia redistricting is a major factor in that one, and there's likely a court challenge and appeals process to be undergone first, giving Cleland a head start.

It's hard to decide which Senitor has climbed to the heights of the depths, and they all have particularly good days, as well as bad. Landrieu is certainly one of the tackiest, however.

I've yet to see a compilation totalling 72, though one that included Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson came my way and I added George Rogers and Merriweather Clark to the worthies. It's not too hard to come up with that many from the state, though not all are known for being from there.

"But Barr is considered the likeliest candidate to challenge Cleland — and the most likely to lose."

This is one where real FReep action will have to take place. Barr is one of our true heros! I might have to camp out down near Atlanta where my great granddaddy was wounded in the Wah and work my tail off for Barr.
