Ok - Tinfoil hats on! Ready? What if all the pilots had been hypnotized with a subliminable suggestion with a key word to allow the guy on the ground to "take control" when they got into the NY area?
That way, they'd be just like the "out of the loop" muscle in the back - just thinking they were to go circle NY City and wait for instructions. Just a thought ... I do wish the voices would stop!

bteer yet, what if all the hijackers received a phone call telling them to "play some solitaire" and then when the queen of diamonds pops up...

It doesn't say how they will prove anything against him. Did he lie to the FBI, etc?He was staying in a hotel room that had a guest room safe in it. Inside the safe was the ground to air radio, his passport and other identifying materials. When interviewed they asked him if he had the ground to air radio. He said no. Of course, when the radio is locke in your roomsafe along with your passport, it is a pretty good indication he is lying.
Does that answer your question?

The only way we will get some safety in this country is if we deport all Muslim Arab males age 15-45 who are not American citizens. If they are not here, they cannot hurt us very easily.
We would have never allowed German and Japanese citizens to run around this country during WWII. As I remember, they were interned for the duration. And the amount of sabatoge here during WWII was negligible.

Those tapes aren't tapes in the ordinary sense. I understand they're steel tapes. There was a lot of heat, and they may indeed be unreadable, but they're expected to survive violent, jet-fuel fires.

He sounds like the Sargent on Hogans Hero's, "I know nothing". This is why people like this should be brought before a military tribunal, not a civil court.

>>>I wish I had that kind of money when I was a student.<<< You didn't go to school on a U.S. AID loan cause you weren't from a "friendly country" like Egypt.

>>>We are supposed to believe the story that Hagazy is just another "foreign student"?<<< I think we probably have a bunch of "Hagazies" in this country. Some may even be going to school. I propose that every last one of them be questioned and, if any doubt exists, put under close surveilience by the FBI.
If this proves to be too cumbersome and too expensive; then lets just send them all home!

I understand they're steel tapes. They are not tapes at all; for many years now they have been solid state memory chips like telephone answering machines use, except protected against moisture, shock, fire etc.

Higazy admits he has expertise with communication devices: "Higazy told agents he had served in the Egyptian Air Corps and had some expertise in communications and communications devices."
The FBI finds the radio in his room safe: "The radio was found inside the room's safe on top of other items, including the passport and a copy of an Arabic book, according to the complaint."
He denies knowledge of it: "Bruno said Higazy denied ever seeing the radio when he was asked about the transceiver, which is marketed for use by pilots, enabling them to communicate air-to-air and air-to-ground with other pilots or to monitor other pilot conversations."
It was found on top of his passport; therefore, he's the one who put the radio in the safe. Open-and-shut case. My guess is he was coordinating the attacks from the ground--keeping the hijackers informed of what they might expect at ground zero.

"an aviation radio found in his room that can communicate with pilots."
An 'aviation' two-way radio that is capable of 2-way communications with any other aviation-transceiver equipped aircraft - which includes just about every civilian aircraft as well as control towers and FAA flight centers.
To say it "can communicate with pilots" is a being GREATLY simplistic (but then, this is a NEWS report).
Would it KILL these guys (the author(s) of this story) to list the make (manufacturer) and model number of this 'aviation radio' that was found?

Millennium Hilton Hotel has rooms from $339.95 up and that is now, I couldn't find prices from before 911.

Plus, according to bin Laden, the "Egyptian family" was running the operation.

They've got this guy cold. After he realizes that they're gonna push the perjury charge to get him the maximum sentence, he'll sing. They always do to save their own asses. Notice what morons these people are when they're being watched? They can attack innocent women and children when nobody's watching. But when the heat is on, they reveal themselves to be the morons they truly are.

Speaking of being a moron, for this guy not to skip the country right after 9/11, and to hang around long enough to reclaim his property in December, has to rank with the '93 WTC bomber insisting on demanding a refund of his deposit for the rental truck.
If there was this kind of ground spotter in NYC on 9/11, presumably there was also one in Washington, who I suspect redirected the plane from the White House to the Pentagon. I wonder if the authorities have any idea who that guy in Washington was. Hopefully they recorded his transmissions.

"It was found on top of his passport; therefore, he's the one who put the radio in the safe. " I've now heard the he has admitted that the radio is his.
