U.S. Undersecretary of Treasury for Domestic Finance Peter Fisher rejected an overture from a top Enron Corp. official to contact bankers on behalf of the troubled energy giant that later went bankrupt, the Treasury department said.

Despite attempts by the Democrats to turn this thing into a Republican scandal, every story that comes out about Enron would make you believe that this company had no friends whatsoever in the Bush administration.
