Now to make a few dozen federal judge appointments.

Heck, it's still early in the afternoon, he could get it done today.

I the recess appointments are good for only a year. After that time, the Senate must reject or approve them. (I think)

Now he needs to get out there and tell the American people exactly why he had to do this-otherwise,Jennings and Woodruff will be screeching that he did something slimy and underhanded.

Good. This was really Bush's only choice. Nobody wants to do this, but the Democrats weren't even going to give them a hearing. A President has the right, within certain legal and moral limits, to appoint whom he wishes to serve in his government.

Recess appointments--they can stay on until the end of the next Senate session.

Unless their name is Bill Lan Lee. Then they get a lifetime appointment. He's still in there on his recess appointment from 4 years ago if memory serves me right.

Yeah right ...

"Well HEEEE did it, why can't I?"

"Why must I hold myself the higher standard I argued existed when Clinton made an end-run around the constitution?"

Why shouldn't I get down on Clinton's level? Worked for him. It's my turn now.

Yeah boy ... he's got all the "gravitas" of some "empowered" sexist feminist or affirmative action addicted black.
