They'll wipe their ass with the Constitution, while trying to convince us that they are "patriotic".

Would wrapping themselves in the flag for political gain constitute "desecration"?

How about a "restoration and protection of the Constitution" act?

I'm sure that the BATF will be put in charge of the 5am no-knocks to round up all the flag desecrators!!

"Would wrapping themselves in the flag for political gain constitute "desecration"?...........well said.

Is there an approach they could take with this unanimous resolution that could equate, or translate, with the call for a convention to amend the constitution?

Brady was awarded the Medal of Honor for his service in the Vietnam War during which time he rescued over 5,000 casualties of war. It's really sad that someone like that should turn around and try to shit on the very freedoms he was supposedly trying to protect.

Absolutely not. The wording must be in the form of an application to Congress for a Convention for Proposing Amendments under Article V, otherwise it is not valid for that purpose. These "advisory" resolutions from the states are a way for politicians to go on the record in favor of patriotism without doing anything substantive.

"Here they go, expecting us to waste vast amounts of political capital on a quixotic crusade to crush the relatively rare dissent. If one passed, I'd never fly one again like I do now, and I'd be tempted to burn a flag out of spite for the new law." I personally would never, ever be tempted to burn the American flag, there is no greater disrespect to this nation and the people who fought and died for the freedoms you enjoy now, then to Desecrate the Flag, by any means. While I am sure it means very little to you, you (sir/Madam) just lost any respect I could ever feel for you.
God Bless America

How about a "restoration and protection of the Constitution" act? Seconded!
To: callisto
This is wrong all over the place.

Yeah, the flag is a symbol of our country, not our god...sticks and stones can break our bones, but burnin' ol' glory won't stop us! - an' kain't hurt us, neither!

Great. Get ready for the "War on Flag desecration". I can see it now, officers from the "Department of Homeland Defense" snooping around burned out bonfires, trashcans, and bar-b-cues, just to make sure they find no remnents of a burnt flag. Lets not forget 4am no-knock raids to make sure you didn't try to hide the evidence inside.
