OK, I don't know about the author, so it could be just an opportunist whipping up intrigue to sell a book. But these accusations are similar to what many of us have suspected, so I'm posting this for debate.

Coulda sworn I read this before...

I didn't see anything on Drudge about this (it could be old), and PRNewswire is hardly a news outlet, it is simply a site where someone can pay a fee and post a news release or PR release.

I dont know who this man is but I suspect it's all true. More of the Clinton legacy.

Either Mr. Thomas has so many high-grade sources that he has no problem burning large quantities of them when he writes a book...or he makes it all up.

From DEBKA PUBLISHING...?

I dunno, I did a search using the word 'China', since it is in both the press release title and Drudge's title. Didn't find it in the last week. So unless someone posted it with their own title, this is the first.

Its on Drudge right now, 1st column just below the freak snow storm story.

I don't think this article has been posted, but another one that is similar, written by Bill Gertz, was posted
here. Someone might have this one mixed up with that one.

Eh, probably.
You have to keep in mind a carefully researched book that showed there was NO direct Bin Laden-China leak wouldn't sell. But one that does will sell thousands to the foil hatters.
I have to state I'm NOT pro-PRC, and nor do I believe the PRC is no threat to the US...it is. But there is just an amazing amount of BS out there overhyping China's military, claiming hundreds of thousands of PRC troops are all over the world, and the new hobby horse is linking China to Al Qaeda directly.
Without a copy of the book it's difficult to analyze it line-by-line. But I'm 95% sure it's pure BS. Nothing about the author gives me any confidence at all it's a rational, balanced analysis.

re : The Chinese delegation had come to sign the contract with Afghanistan that Osama bin-Laden had asked for, that would provide the Taliban with missile-tracking, state of the art communications, and air defense systems in exchange for the Taliban's promise to end the attacks by Muslim extremists in China's north-western regions.
This is a simple quid pro quo .
What has this got to do with the terrorist attack against America ?.

Check your archives, Chemainus said this four months ago. It is true. Someone write Pericles and tell him.

Chamberlain said the same thing about NAZI Germany..... Look at the Chinese arms shipments after 9-11....look at the truth about the Chinese pact with the Taliban and Al Quaeda on the very date 9-11 . Who benefits ? Remember Sun Tsu " No nation has ever benefitted from a protracted war." If a global anti-guerrilla war is not a protracted war then I do not know what is. Who benefits? The non-direct foe on the sidelines. Who loses ultimately from a protracted war? Read Sun Tsu. We do. China gains . We lose . Don't you think the Chinese are capable of devious and viscious foreign instigation? You must not remember the seventies and the Chinese sponsorship of terrorism then. It is not new. Wake up !

"
China by 2015 will have deployed tens to several tens of missiles with nuclear warheads targeted against the US."
Haha! Who are we kidding with this author's timeline? The Chinese already claim the deployment of something like two dozen or so NTBM's - so I guess this qualifies as "tens to several tens". This is hardly a match for 7500-8000, 1200 of which can be launched within an hour.

This will only lead to discouragement, if true, as there appear to me to be two countries the Bush family will never suspect of evil (or quickly cover up the evil, if discovered) ? the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China.
Yes, Clinton did much damage, but we now have to deal with the new reality of the new administration, and I don't think you can show me its track record with the Reds is any better so far.
Slaves sure do work cheap. And they can't form unions. It's every CEO's dream come true.

The great neutralizer in all this is Pakistan and India. China signed a pact with Pakistan. If India goes to war and China decides to defend Pakistan, they will have very strained resources to take US on! 3 billion Chinese that hate their Government already fighting for Muslims that they hate against 1 billion Hindus with nukes.
