Look at the Chinese arms shipments after 9-11....look at the truth about the Chinese pact with the Taliban and Al Quaeda on the very date 9-11 . Who benefits ? Remember Sun Tsu " No nation has ever benefitted from a protracted war." If a global anti-guerrilla war is not a protracted war then I do not know what is. Who benefits? If China were out to conquer the U.S., the last thing they would do is kick us in the shins to piss us off and put us on alert. China thinks long-term, and therefore would more likely bide their time quietly while their military capabilities get up to speed. Right now, they suck.
The real fallacy, I think, is the premise that the Chinese want to take over the U.S. at all. They (their leadership) are not idealogues. They want power and money, yes, but they don't buy Marxism any more than I do. A Chinese attack on the U.S. is unlikely, unless instigated by a lunatic military fringe. Now Taiwan......
