NOW MAKING THE ROUNDS ON THE NET. Cited under "fair use" for educational purposes.

Subject: Re: What Are You Scared Of?

Those who are coming in here to post a bunch of propaganda to smear Bush or otherwise harm the war effort are going to be deleted.

I guess you missed my posts where I said that I am 100% behind our President and the war. I don't care if it's Ron Paul, Larry McDonald, or the head of the John Birch Society himself. I do not want it on FR. And I do not want a bunch of 40 year old conspiracy crap. Not interested.
____________________________________________________________

There you have it. Free Republic is not an objective reporter of the facts but a blatent supporter of the Bush administrations' war for oil, and by Jim Robinson's own admission.

In another post, Jim states...

____________________________________________________________
Jim Robinson (Free Republic)
by JIM ROBINSON in This thread

Lots of grumbling lately about deleted posts. Well, my friends, the simple truth is the game has changed. We are now at war.
____________________________________________________________

Of course, Jim Robinson has it wrong. We're not at war. Only Congress can state otherwise and there has been no formal declaration of war by anyone. Bush hasn't gone to Congress to ask for such a declaration because that would restore Congress to its role in the balance of powers doctrine on which the nation was founded. Bush has no intention of allowing Congress to second-guess him, and indeed Bush has flat out declared that he will not bother informing Congress of intelligence operations from this point forward as is required by law.

Yes, we have been attacked, but it's not really known by whom. Even the FBI admits the IDs on which they based their accusations were faked using the stolen identities of middle eastern Arabs, some of whom have since turned up alive. From this it should be obvious that we cannot really know who was on those planes, only who we are supposed to blame.

But Jim Robinson isn't interested in these facts. He's spiked threads pointing out that the FBI admitted the IDs used by the hijackers were phony. Jim Robinson has spiked threads about how some of the accused hijackers have turned up alive. Jim Robinson has spiked many of the threads dealing with the Israeli spy scandal and the fact that the US has classified evidence linking some of the arrested Israeli spies with the events of 9/11. Jim Robinson has spiked threads suggestng that Bush has exceeed his constitutional authority. Jim Robinson will tolerate no doubts about the righteousness of Bush's war for oil.

But more than that, Jim Robinson displays an arrogant assumption that the presence of a war justifies anything. He argues that we should get behind the government because (he claims) there is a war. But translate that to Germany of 1939. Was it the right thing for the German people to unquestioningly back Hitler because there was a war on? Or would the German people (and the world) have been better served taking a pause and a closer look at just what the government was doing? And if Germany should have examined their government's claims a lot closer, then how can we not do the same now?

Free Republic has shown its true colors. Jim is "not interested" in facts, only in selling Bush's wars. Free Republic isn't about news any more, only about propaganda.

As an old time FReeper, I regard Michael Rivero to be one of the most interesting posters to ever post to Free Republic.

To some brains (and I use the word "brains" loosely) Rivero's threads and posts are the equivalent of a cheap, quick buzz. No facts--just a sharp jolt to the glands.

No doubt about it. There are some here who are Rivero-addicts. Their assertions that Rivero makes them "think" are similar to the assertions that some druggies make that LSD or peyote gives them profound insight into quantum physics.

I suspect that many Rivero-addicts also have five-year subscriptions to the Weekly World News.

OOPS...#176 deleted by the moderator...not bad for a hugely contentious thread containing 260+ replies, covering a wide range of opinion and argument. Thank heaven for public debate, and for Jim Robinson, for providing a forum to hold that debate IN.

I was aiming to prove something, and I did.

You proved nothing, except your own paranoia and hunger for attention.

By the way:

My Last Article to FR -- dated 06/17/2001.

I do hereby give my word to Jim Robinson, the host of the Free Republic forum, that from this article forward, I will author no other article besides the following, as it is my sole purpose for speaking in this forum.

BWAAAHAAAAAAHAAAA!

Rivero strikes again!

The little bugger reminds me of Eschoir, who, like a moth to a lightbulb, just can't keep his nasty little face away from FR.

Rivero is Art Bell with a beard. He takes unrelated facts, relates them in an unrelated way, then says "See...that proves a conspiracy exists!"

He positively despises America, and voted for Bill Clinton TWICE!

It's a good thing, for his own sake, that he lives in Hawaii or, with his anti-American views, Ashcroft might have him cooling his heels with the rest of his Muslie buddies.

"Republic was going to let the Republicans and Bush cheerleaders take heat just like anybody else..."

They do, and so do people like me, who are neither Republicans nor "cheerleaders".

Don't you think they will figure out it is hatemail when it comes from justforthehellofit@hotmail.com?

I've posted plenty of critiques against Bush or the moderate republicans and none of them have ever been pulled. Thus, I personally have never seen evidence of censorship. And even if there are certain things that Mr. Robinson considers garbage and censors, it is his website and his right to do so. I find freerepublic has always been one of the most open and informative websites on the web. That this thread exists at all shows that freerepublic does very little censoring.

However, I wanted to point out that associating Ron Paul, Larry McDonald or the John Birch Society with this anti-american garbage is not right. First of all, Representative Larry McDonald, (D) Georgia, and former president of the JBS, has been dead for years, having been murdered by the Russians when they shot down the plane he was in on the way to Korea. I doubt very much that he returned from the grave to cook up Oklahoma city theories. Ron Paul has been, and is, a bastion of constitutional defense and should also not be painted with this broad brush. And, the JBS is one of the oldest conservative organizations and is very reputable and there is no reason to slur it. If it continues to point out Bush administration foibles like Homeland Security and assaults on our individual liberties, so much the better.

In general, however, I support freerepublic and Mr. Robinson and wish him much happiness and success in the coming year.

Why did Jim Robinson start this form?

According to Jim's own words, he was on Prodigy and he would get censored all the time.

I don't understand why he would want to censor his own site so heavily.

spe-cious (spe-shus) adj.1. plausible, but not genuine; superficially accurate but without substance upon closer examination; deriving, or derived from false causality [specious logic].

The dictionary forgot to add "The heart of conspiracy theory."

"Michael Rivero was a valuable asset in that fight."

No. MR is a lying crackpot that caused disbelief on every thread where he appeared. Every time someone would post something that would come close to the truth regardless of which side the person was on, MR would appear with a bunch of nonsense that would take days to clear up. MR isn't interested in the truth. He's interested in spamming FR to his wbsite.

I have all the proof I need, now, with the removal of that "pointing" article last night.

Then I guess you'll be leaving soon, huh? Well, thanks for stopping by. Nice seein' ya. Adios. Drive carefully. Drop in anytime you're in the neighborhood. Ciao. Arrivederci. Au revoir. So long. Auf wiedersehen. Buh bye. Hasta la vista. Sayonara. Mazel tov. Write if you find work. Don't be a stranger. Farewell. Aloha.

If Jim wanted to turn this into a porn site, that would be his prerogative because he owns the domain name. Im trying to have an open mind to what Arator and others are saying, but it just seems more and more that they are selfish and jealous and misguided.
