I've posted plenty of critiques against Bush or the moderate republicans and none of them have ever been pulled. Thus, I personally have never seen evidence of censorship. And even if there are certain things that Mr. Robinson considers garbage and censors, it is his website and his right to do so. I find freerepublic has always been one of the most open and informative websites on the web. That this thread exists at all shows that freerepublic does very little censoring.
However, I wanted to point out that associating Ron Paul, Larry McDonald or the John Birch Society with this anti-american garbage is not right. First of all, Representative Larry McDonald, (D) Georgia, and former president of the JBS, has been dead for years, having been murdered by the Russians when they shot down the plane he was in on the way to Korea. I doubt very much that he returned from the grave to cook up Oklahoma city theories. Ron Paul has been, and is, a bastion of constitutional defense and should also not be painted with this broad brush. And, the JBS is one of the oldest conservative organizations and is very reputable and there is no reason to slur it. If it continues to point out Bush administration foibles like Homeland Security and assaults on our individual liberties, so much the better.
In general, however, I support freerepublic and Mr. Robinson and wish him much happiness and success in the coming year.
From an email message received from Jazzfanaticus:
"By this token, if I or another chose to post anti-CIA material from, say, the John Birch Society or Rep. Ron Paul or the late or deposed Congressmans Larry McDonald, George Hansen, Phil Utt, John Ashbrook, et al., would you then run it, sans Webmaster interference? Say "yes," and we'll see if you hold up to your end of the bargain."
BTW, the "anti-CIA" material we are talking about here is decades old marxist propaganda. I sincerely doubt that Ron Paul would associate himself with these birds.
