Pakistan is continuing its troops build-up along the border with India by withdrawing some troops on the Afghan border to confront the Indian army, senior officials said. Senior Pakistani military officials said that the 'High Command' had decided to pull back up to 50,000 of the nearly 60,000 troops, deployed along the Afghan frontier recently to stop the infiltration of Al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters.

Not on any "hallowed ground", I daresay.

I think he's back in the States for the Christmas vacation. Fox has given him a "vote of confidence", but, in the sports and business world, that is usually the kiss of death.

I get an hour of this on Art Bell on the nightly commute home. ~He was curiously absent from the show after the Y2K fizzle. Glad he has returned...

"pull back up to 50,000 of the nearly 60,000 troops, deployed along the Afghan frontier "

Sorry, I read it wrong. Yeah, looks like they are pulling off of the Afghan border to beef up the Indian border.

My bad.

Nope, he'll be in Afghanistan (or a sound stage lookalike). But you can take comfort that thousands of American troops are stationed in Pakistan to catch the nukes as they fall. Of course, if this thought disturbs you, then you shouldn't be hoping for a nuclear war to begin with.

C'mon, I'm not 'hoping' for any nuclear war in general, and of course wish for the safety of all American servicepeople.

Anyways, I sure Jerry Rivers is well prepared, what with that derringer or whatever he claims he is packing.

Well, I'm glad you're not hoping for nuclear war, and I apologise for painting you that way. But let me tell you, there are alot of folks on this forum who are GENUINELY hoping for nuclear weapons to be used between India and Pakistan. And in addition to the other factors that would make this a horrendous tragedy/catastrophe is the fact the nuke war supporters are seemingly unconcerned that American troops would be vaporized with everything else.

Regarding Jerry Rivers, that video image of him crawling in Afghanistan has always looked like it was on a sound stage. If there is nuclear war (and emp hasn't prevented video transmissions), I'm sure Whereswaldo Chimera will have makeup artists fully on hand to simulate burns he received hundreds of miles away from where he claims to be reporting.

I don't think our troops would be in harms way and could be moved quickly if things got out of hand.

What I do worry about is what the global groups will try to do with the tens of millions of refugees that would have to evacuate the radioactive regions. I'm sure we will do our part in giving a few more million a home.

We've got enough 7-11 clerks. We don't need millions more sucking on our med system with bone cancer.
