Over the past 30 years, whenever the price of gasoline at the pump rose and continued to rise to over $2.00 per gallon, accusations against Big Oil and any conservative politicians' ties with the oil and gas industry was called into scrutiny. Charges upon charges were rallied that the Bush family were in cahoots with Big Oil and that all other political decisions were mere charades to line the pockets of their energy masters.
Ever notice how now when the price of gasoline has dropped by about 60% within about a month, the only accolades or public mention, regarding the conservative President, is that his policies are against the environment?
What's wrong with this picture?
Very astute of you to notice.... I take all the "big oil man" slanders as part of a wider effort by the left to "poison the well" against Mr. Bush in particular and the right in general- they think this stuff will stick if they keep slinging long enough, and God knows the media is all too willing to help spread it and keep it before the public's attention.
Just FYI, I think they come up with these cute phrases ( like "for the sake of our children...." ) via push polls and focus groups. Just my gut feeling about it.
Not quite, now the democraps are trying to blame Enron on Bush and his oil friends. I don't think it will work because W's approval ratings are so high. They are going to shoot themselves in the other foot big time on this one.
