I used to have a Gateway. 2 hard drives, three motherboards, and idiots for tech support.

I got rid of it and got an Alienware(Expensive, but among the best in quality and support). One problem with the speakers in nearly 3 years. I sent an email. They sent new speakers after one question back that I answered.

No other problems at all and no complaints.

Ouch. Doesn't sound like a fun experience. I've heard similar stories from other Gateway owners, though. My office had ALL Gateways when I got there (for desktops, anyway), and was just preparing to replace the old ones with more, in spite of the problems they'd had. I had a hissy fit and whined and complained and carried on, and they changed to Dell. We still have the first batch of Gateways that were ordered when they were starting to replace things, though. They keep me employed. ;-)
