LMAO, talk about a dysfunctional Christmas! Can you imagine about 20 very opinionated FReepers in a room together celebrating this very religious holiday? You'd have atheists, Protestants, Catholics and Jews. My bet is that after about 30 minutes there would be a WWF style free-for-all. LOL

Although I'm very happily married, our family ditched the extended family this year to spend 3 days in a resort. Who did we have Christmas Dinner with, you might ask??? TWO FREEPERS who live in the area. All arranged ahead of time and off line. We had a BLAST!
I highly reccommend holidays with FREEPERS! I'll do it again next year if I can get away with it!

Happy New Year to all Freepers!
I'm spending New Year's Eve with my 83 year old father at the assisted living home he lives in. I'll bring his dog over too. He's wheelchair bound and completely disabled. I'm getting whiskey and vermouth to fix him his Manhattans and I guess I'll buy a bottle of Chablis for me and we'll watch the New Year's Eve celebrations on TV.

how non-responsive churches are to the needs of single adults, especially during the Holidays. I might add, how non-responsive all of society is to single adults, at any time. Especially single mothers.

I'm spending New Years eve making sure my customers computers work through year-end accounting. So, I'll be spending a lot of time posting at FR. I have a new bottle of Glenfiddich I got for Christmas though, so I'm toasting the new year in anyway. I just have to wait til 1AM instead of midnight.

New Years - Easy - I'll be going to the local Sports Bar to watch my Spartans take on Fresno State in the Silicon Valley Bowl.
I just hope there isn't 4 guys there for every lady like last year. :(
If there is a Freeper New Years party, I may be in next year, but I'll be going to family events for Christmas. It's a tradition that's been around long before I was even born.

It has just come to my attention, that next year Christmas falls on a Wednesday! So I suggest a second "Christmas" (As in Christ) on the weekend following... I understand this may interefere with your "Kwanza" plans... but let's get our priorities straight!
We can also have a pre-New Years party while we are at it!
What do you all think? :)

A party for New Years' sounds great --- only start it early! (by 8pm) - I don't always stay up clear till midnight...

What are your plans for this New Years? To sit here, watch my kids' feet grow, and get older alone. Isn't that sad?

My plans for New Years? Me and StoneColdGOP are going to party, and then hold back each others' hair while we hurl.
Seriously, we are going to ring in the New Year together, happily!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Churches have no responsibility for singles any more than they do married couples: In other words, both are just as valuable, and catering to one is wrong. It is not the job of the church to find you a mate.
It is the job of fellow Freepers to find you one.....
