I am pulling for UNC also. We played them the first game of the season in some preseason Hispanic Bowl here in Norman (still have my sombrerro) and really interesting to see how far they have come!

I know yer talkin' 'bout 40's jazz, but I feel this way about music in general. Some forms of music provide exactly the sedative you describe, while others bring out a manic side of my personality that really is not appropriate for all occasions. Some songs make me feel warm and wholesome inside, while others can induce ungodly anger and rage...it's a tool I have cultivated and used to write pretty much every one of my parodies, and I don't think I've even scratched the surface of its power.

I've never been much of an opera fan, but I am sure that that is solely on the basis of my personal ignorance to its charms and passions...maybe if I learned Italian or some of the other romance languages...are there even any good English version operas out there?
BTW...what do you think about the Chairman of the Board/Leader of the Ratpack, Frank Sinatra? I've got 3-4 CDs of his and know I could do his words justice with a parody or ten...but without a string section, what's the use?
