Doesn't it make you wonder how much investigation would have been done if it weren't for Sep 11th. It took months for Ashcroft to even get a couple of his people confirmed and my question would be why were they stalling DOJ confirmations? After Ashcroft removed some clintonites and got a few people in slots that reported direct to him, Sep 11th happened and a lot of investigators were put on the terrorist investigation instead of following up on things like this! The friend then dialed *69, the automatic call-back sequence, and was connected to the Breezeway Motel in Fairfax. The friend explained to the motel operator that Mr. Millis was threatening to commit suicide. …….However, several U.S. government officials said Mr. Millis was fired and that the investigation was related to improper activities by him. ……."

Loeb is one of the Post's primary intelligence beat reporters and regarded by FTW as being a conduit for CIA "inspired" stories. In a lengthy article covering the back story behind allegations that former CIA Director (DCI) John Deutch, a Clinton Democratic appointee, had misused CIA computers at his home, Loeb included a series of quotes from Millis that FTW noted were unusually candid. "Asked at a public lecture at the Smithsonian Tuesday night to rate the various directors of Central Intelligence, Millis said Deutch now takes 'first, second and third prize,' adding that he did 'major damage' to the CIA's Directorate of Operations."

Loeb included additional quotes from Millis praising current DCI George Tenet but closed his story with the following passage: "Where Tenet hasn't done as well, Millis said, is coordinating the overall affairs of the 13-agency intelligence community. But Millis blamed that shortcoming on a lack of support by President Clinton, whom Millis ranked as one of the worst presidents when it comes to support of, and regard for, the intelligence community."

I've got one of those sorta neighbors living sorta catty-corner to me...for all we know, the guy is a Mafia informant in the Federal Witness-Protection Program, but he never has visitors, never really takes care of his lawn or house, never speaks to anyone on the block except me now that I've lent him my lawnmower a few times and made a bit of a nuisance of myself due to my curiousity. Is this neighbor still living accross the street? I think he's worth bein' a nuisance to, IMHO.

"He came over to our house many times to use the telephone, to borrow a cigarette, or just to be nosey. Several times he came over on Saturday to use the phone. The times I heard him on the phone he told the person on the other end that he needed money, and he always told them exactly how much he needed - $200, $400, etc."

So...phone records exist that explain who this neighbor is calling. Not very bright if the guy is a suspect, but I'd still want to follow up on those leads.
