Sorry, bub.
Don't follow the game anymore.
Which if you knew what that means when a ex-Packer fan says that; it's saying a lot.
Got fedup with the mediocre level of play shortly after halftime of that Packers-49ers game.
So there was only one thing to do.
I grabbed a handful of Marshall Tucker CDs, fired-up the SS, & hit the road in search of a Cobra to skin alive.

...such is the stuff Evansville Sundays are made-up of, bucko. {yawnnn} {g}

"I noticed that the Hoos vaulted out of the ACC cellar this weekend with that big win at North Carolina. "

After that Clemson Debacle, the win on Saturday was unusually large fer this early in the season.

"Lunch tomorrow?"

I'm game...let's get the particulars straight via FReepMail.

I've always liked Shottenheimer, I think the Redskins are making a mistake in letting him go.
Spurrier may or may not do well, depending on how he handles the jump from coaching college athletes to millionaire athletes.
Although unlike a lot of other college coaches who've made the leap to the NFL, Spurrier at least played in the league, albeit in the 'good ol' days'.

My interest in the NFL has waned over the last several years.
I'm still patiently waiting for Jerry Jones to sell the Cowboys and a new owner bring them back to respectability and prominence as they were under Coach Landry.

Yep...get us a new QB, a DT, a LG, another WR, and get the unhealthy folks back in uniform and I sincerely believe Marty couldda whupped that team into shape next year.

Yep! But to be more accurate, I'm a Tom Landry COWboy's fan!

And, I also truly admire the man under this houndstooth hat.

Although I'm born and bred to LOATHE everything connected to the Dallas Cowboys, I did secretly respect Coach Landry. Didn't like him, mind you, but he was an honorable dude, as, of course, was the Bear.

Now...Michael Irvin, Charlie Waters, Clint Longley, HollyWeird Henderson--I could go on--they give us Redskin Fans a perfect villian twice a year.

BTW...I'm stickin' with my Aikman as Skins QB fer next year, but either he or Bledsoe look to be spear-heading Spurrier's Offense next year...could be interesting with that dominant defense we've slowly created!!

Welcome yankhater...ever since the Yanks signed away my boy Giambi, I reckon I'm a yankhater, too...LOL!! FReegards...MUD

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sad to see Giambi go to the sucky yankees, myself. They are buying another title and destroying the A's at the same time. Kind of like Microsoft.

"They are...destroying the A's"

Not so fast, mi amigo nuevo...the A's still have a great starting rotation and if we can find a decent closer to replace Isringhausen, teams ain't gonna score a lotta runs on us. We will need to pick up a few bats to replace Damon and Giambi...did we re-sign Jermaine Dye yet? It would be good to see Jeremy Giambi take his game to another level, too.

Don't count out those A's, though...if they stay healthy, they can win the relatively-weak AL West and then use their pitching superiority to quiet the Pretenders from NooYawk!!

Well I'll tell ya, I can fondly remember a lot of great Cowboy-Redskin games over the years.

I can appreciate what ya said about Tom Landry. I felt the same towards Billy Kilmer.
He wasn't cast in the 'Elway' QB die, but that guy could be taking a beating all day & still come back and beat ya!
Now that I think of it, I don't recall Billy ever resorting to that little 'slide' when he was running in open field & about to have his bell rang.

I heard Rush when he began talking about Enron and mentioning how average people knew it was going down. I told my husband (who wonders why I spend so much time here) that what he was saying was nearly word for word what was posted by innocentbystander here last night. Next thing I knew, Rush mentioned FR.

At least I got to make the point to my husband that the average folks on FR are cutting edge...LOL!

Can't wait to tell the Missuz...LOL!! However, she thinks Limbaugh's as nutty as FReepers, so I'm not sure how much it's gonna help. We must excuse her naivete, as she was raised in the household of a Lib'ral Professor at William and Mary (no Conservative Bastion that). But she's coming around...ssssssssslooooowwwwwwwleeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Give it time. I'm sure she also got sold a bill of goods by the Feminist Lie which probably did all sorts of damage to her sense of humor and logic in addition to her political leanings. Difficult to avoid if you were alive during the 60's-present. But I have a sister who did a complete 180 and is now as conservative as they come. So there's hope yet!

Yes, I can still see his "dying quail' passes, but they were on target and were usually caught! A very much underrated QB, indeed.
