Bush also terminated the 1974 Jackson-Vanik law

Beauty ... this is the far more interesting bit.

Comes just in time for the big roll back to the US ... back to the US ... back to the USSR of the old Eastern Bloc.

Boy, things are shaping up nicely noose-wise.

China already owns our stores (about everything in them). What makes anyone think they don't own us? We are bought and paid for. "Normalizing relations" with a communist slave state is morally wrong. It is done with eyes closed and nostrils held tightly shut. It is done only to perpetuate easy corporate and middleman profit. An illusion of prosperity is created...on the backs of the slaves. Eventually we will pay the price for all this. The commie Chinese will, before long, begin to act like they own us. We will oblige by being compliant. They do own us.

Only Clintonistas would be so crass as to make money of the Chicoms they let infiltrate, compromise, coerce, intimidate and steal from our government.

The Bush's are (quite literally) above that.

That's why Uncle Pres is up front and honest about his calling the shots (and controlling both access to and influence of) the US/China Chamber.

I didn't check ... did you get that link from the site or (my personal favorite stash of same) JeanS's article on "Hostage Fears for Bush's Uncle & Co." posted when they got caught on the mainland during the EP-3E incident.

<in her best Peewee Herman voice> -- Ooooh, I love that story ...

Don't forget, Sino-American relations is Condi Rice's main focus. Apparently, we're still trying to "engage" China. The same China that attacked our spy plane.

I'm not terribly thrilled but am plugged-in sufficently to know this was going to happen. I do what I can to avoid Chinese slave-made products.

And Dubya agrees.. Well, a little bit.

If they are the "good" commies that is, we should trade with them. We can't trade with the bad ones because that would be wrong

I saw the smirk on some Pakistanie official,I believe it is very possible they are hiding Bin Laden and are our enemy.

Same token with this news...it seems at the very least Bush coddled to the politico in befriending our enemy red China and allowing them even more American jobs ( more and more of our steel plant/foundry closings. And... all of this empowers an enemy's army and strengthens THEIR economy.

Even if they have no intention of going to war with us ever (if anyone believes this I have some swamp-land) they still own America and I challenge anyone to show me that atleast 90% of our products that do not have the label MADE IN CHINA-or MADE IN TAIWAN-(:::then read the small print::: it has a peoples republic of China from Taiwan as well)

This is ludicrous. There is one word for this...GLOBALIZATION

Jim Robinson posted this on another thread

Just got a call from John. He is up in San Jose preparing for the move. The system will probably be coming down about two hours from now and it will probably be down for a couple hours. When it comes back up we will be on our new IP address which will be: 209.157.64.200

He has set the current DNS service to expire every hour, so it should not take too long for the new address to propagate out to all the name servers.

Bush - Your biggest fault is that you and your daddy are ChiCom lovers.

They will turn out to be our biggest military enemy (you know this already Mr. President) and this economic support will catapult them even faster towards this end.

I will seriously consider not voting for you during the next election.

For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
December 27, 2001

Statement by the Deputy Press Secretary
President Bush Grants Permanent Normal Trade Relations
Status to China

Today the President signed a proclamation granting permanent normal trading relations (PNTR) status to the People's Republic of China and terminating application of Jackson-Vanik provisions to China.  Taking effect January 1, 2002, this is the final step in normalizing U.S.-China trade relations and welcoming China into a global, rules-based trading system.  It marks the completion of more than a decade of bilateral and multilateral negotiations, and the beginning of a process of working constructively with China to help it fully implement its commitments on trade liberalization.

Congress authorized these actions subject to the President's certification that the final terms of entry for China into the WTO were at least equivalent to those agreed to bilaterally between the United States and China in 1999, and China's successful entry into the WTO.  The President certified the equivalency of the final terms on November 9, 2001; China formally became a WTO member on December 11, 2001.

Lastly - ( and most importantly ) We really don't care if governments in another country kill their people or use them as slaves. ...

Exactly! And since we could give a rats a$$ about foreigners being used for slave labor, we shouldn't give a rats a$$ about Americans in our prisons who are being used for slave labor either! That's right, that neighbor of yours that was hauled away for growing a few plants in his own American backyard, is now learning how to make shoes for Nike. In fact it's such a good idea, you know, paying less for your tennies and all, that we've expanded the prison population in AmeriKa beyound that of China and Russia. /true

I'm sure it's likely we'll see more Americans being sent to prisons as their means to support their family gets shipped overseas. But hey, at least they'll be working, right?
