Not denying that there are many problems with immigration it is still of importance that you get your facts right. There are no 1.5 million Muslims in the Netherlands. There are almost 3 million non-native inhabitants of the country. Of those, some 1.5 million or 'non-Western'immigrants. Of those, soem 600.000 come from Morocco and Turkey (the others come from mainly former colonies and the Netherlands'Antilles). We can assume those 600.000 are Muslim. Give it another 100.000 Muslims from other countries and we have a population of 700.000 Muslims. That is less than 5% of the population and NOT 10%, as you maintained. Facts are stubborn things. Try to get them right.

Thanks NA, for the information you gave me in mid-November just before my wife and I left for Amsterdam. The people were terrific, and the sights were awesome. We stayed in Haarlem the first night, and then headed for Amsterdam. We also visited Edam, and the Hague. We were greatly impressed by the beauty of Amsterdam, and the friendly disposition of the people. If you're not interested in art, culture, good food, history, and beautifull sights, you wouldn't want to visit Amsterdam.

Got these fighures from some one at polinco. I just checked for myself now and came up with 1,024,000 registered muslims in 1999/2000 (www.fundamenteel.nl look at statistieken).
