On this day before Christmas, once again I'd like to express my thanks to each and every one of you - not only those that are pictured below (which is a link to the tribute to FR's Veterans and Active Military Personnel), but to all who served or are now serving our country. May this time next year we see Peace on Earth, and Good Will Towards All. Have a Blessed Christmas, stay safe, and be well.

      Dear Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman...
I just want to thank you for being there....for me, my family, your family, for our country....for fighting to keep it strong and free.
I pray that God will bless you and keep you safe. You are all our HEROS, and when you return, there will be parties and balloons and fireworks and parades, and dancing in the street.

Canteen Jokes of The Day:

-------------------------------------------------

A linguistics professor was lecturing to his class one day.
“In English,” he said, “A double negative forms a positive.
In some languages, though, such as Russian, a double negative is
still a negative. However, there is no language wherein a double
positive can form a negative.” A voice from the back of the
room piped up, “Yeah, right.”

--------------------------------------

Why is Christmas just like a day at the office?

You do all the work and some fat guy in a suit gets all the credit.

----------------------------------------

A man from New York was visiting a small Southern town
during Christmas time. They had a "Nativity Scene" there that
showed great skill and talent had gone into creating it. One
small feature bothered the yankee. The three wise men were
all wearing firemen's helmets.

Totally unable to come up with a reason or explanation, he
left. At a "Quickie Stop" on the edge of town, he asked
the lady behind the counter about the firemen's helmets.

She exploded into a rage, yelling at him, "You damn Yankees
never do read the Bible!"

He assured her that he did, but simply couldn't recall
anything about firemen in the Bible.

She jerked her Bible from behind the counter and ruffled through
some pages, and finally jabbed her finger at a passage.

Sticking it in his face she said "See, it says right here,
'The three wise man came from afar.'"

The illustration below is called a Fibonocci Puzzle. The four colored pieces of the puzzle are the same in each version shown. But rearranging the pieces from the top version to the bottom version produces greatly different results.

In the bottom version, where does the hole come from?

A Very Merry Christmas to You! May Peace and Joy be Yours Today and Always.

It’s been a privilege to make your acquaintance. Thank you for making my first year on Free Republic so interesting and fun (a regular riot at times).

Thank you Military Vets and Active Duty and USO Personnel, for what you’ve done and what you do to keep America the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

Sincerely, Bill
