UN GROUP CALLS FOR FINGERPRINTING EVERYONE!!!

Refugees meeting hears proposal to register every human in GENEVA, Dec 13 AAP|Published: Friday December 14, 7:18 AM

Every person in the world would be fingerprinted and registered under a universal identification scheme to fight illegal immigration and people smuggling outlined at a United Nations meeting today.

The plan was put forward by Pascal Smet, the head of Belgium's independent asylum review board, at a roundtable meeting with ministers including Australian Immigration Minister Philip Ruddock this afternoon.

Mr Smet said the European Union was already considering a Europe-wide system, using either fingerprints or eye scanning technology, to identify citizens.

But he said the plan could be extended worldwide. "There are no technical problems. It is only a question of will and investment," he said. "If you look to our societies, we are already registered from birth until death. Our governments know who we are and what we are. But one of the basic problems is the numbers of people in the world who are not registered, who do not have a set identity, and when these people move with real or fake passports, you cannot identify them.

"It's a basic rule of management that if you want to manage something, you measure it. It's the same with human beings and migration.

"But instead of measuring it, you have to register them."

Mr Smet said the scheme would give people dignity by giving them an identity if their papers had been lost or destroyed.

And he said it would allow countries to open their borders to genuine travellers or asylum seekers, because they would be able to prove the identity of any over-stayers and deport them without argument from their home country.

Mr Ruddock appeared unconvinced by the merits of the plan.

"In principle we would be supportive of a system which would crack down on multiple asylum claims, but a universal identification system would be taking it too far," he said through a spokeswoman.

Yet another reason why we can not allow .50 caliber sniper rifles to be outlawed.

Lots of blue helmets = target rich environment.

Watch for the freepers to tell you this is no big deal. Move along. You can trust Bush. He'll never allow us to sign on to this.

This is never going to get to Bush. The UN couldn't organize a bake sale, much less a worldwise fingerprinting operation.

I don't necessarily know if I interpret Revelations the same way as a lot of other Freepers do, but I do know that if you're all correct, the one-world government and Antichrist and all that is going to have to be, you know, actually evil. The UN and EU are like the Three Million Stooges.

Oh, but see, it's the UN doing it, not the US. So we're safe, see? < /sarcasm>. Anyone who does not admit to the fact that the actions of the General(might as well drop Attorney part, we don't need any courts) and President Bush will within 20 years (if not sooner) establish a state where most of our rights will be swallowed up in the name of safety is blind.

Reminds me of that scene from Demolition Man where Stallone is sitting at the table asking for salt and he is told that all things bad for you have been banned. Freedom, isn't it grand?

"Yup, viewing either naked will turn you to stone."

Wouldn't it work in the other direction? I thought that was the antidote to Viagra overdose. :)

You forgot to include anybody who has ever worked for the Federal Government. I got fingerprinted when I went to work for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Alaska 30 years ago.

Been there done that dude! My friends and I took our spring break (back in college) to New York and unleashed the golden shower on that ugly 50's UN site.

Let the UN photograph the print of our middle finger as we give it the salute it deserves.

Get the US out of the UN and the F*cking UN out of the US.

I'll let you in on a secret: The UN is already evil. And the U.S. has already agreed to do this.

When the congress makes legislation to support it explicitly he'll sign it and the U.S. will enforce it via the FBI or IRS and state agencies.

It sounds like maybe the inmates should be running the asylum! Maranatha.

Time to go back on the meds - FReepers will NEVER accept this, and neither will President Bush.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

And what am I bid for this BEAUTIFUL bridge in Brooklyn?

Pure, unadulterated crock.

We'll deal with our OWN immigration reform...without the assistance of these lying, globalist hypocrites who have NEVER been concerned about illegal immigration anywhere before!

FUNNY how so many people are using the attack on 9/11 to round up the lemmings...

"Yeah, I'm waiting to read the first "You just don't get it!" post."

Of course you've been waiting for the first "You just don't get it" post because this is what plants are hired to do, newbie. Shout down the opposition, declare victory and high tail it off the field. :)

...it can take up to 15 minutes to get a good set of prints, even with the electronic scanners. (don't ask me how I know) 15 minutes times how many billions that haved to be served? I come up with roughly 14,000 years worth of work (not even counting the associated paper work)....

Right.

Soooo, let's start with those who've had preliminary assessment as a potential risk.

Gunowners, for instance.
