Linda Tripp: Not All Heroes Are Honored
Too Good Reports ^ | December 11, 2001 | Chuck Baldwin

Posted on 12/11/2001 5:31:10 AM PST by Stand Watch Listen

The horrific events of September 11 gave rise to many acts of heroism by numerous brave Americans. Many of these stouthearted souls have been duly honored. However, not all heroes are so honored. Some are left to suffer the devastating consequences of their courage alone and are totally forgotten. One such American hero is Linda Tripp.

Does anyone remember Linda Tripp? Linda is the Pentagon employee whose honesty and courage led to Bill Clinton's impeachment. During a time when Democrats were 800-pound gorillas, Republicans were 90-pound weaklings, and the media were nothing more than Clinton lap dogs, Linda Tripp stood up to the awesome power of the establishment in a fashion not heard of since little David faced off against Goliath of Gath. Unfortunately for Linda (and for the rest of us, too), she has not been rewarded for her sacrifice.

Instead, news reports recently revealed that Tripp is virtually penniless. She has not been able to find work since being fired by Clinton's war machine. As a result, she has lost her home to foreclosure, and any prospects for gainful employment appear minimal. Linda went from a job paying more than $100,000 per year to joblessness and penury almost overnight. "For what reason?" you ask. She heroically stood up for truth, justice, and constitutional government.

President Bush's "compassionate conservatism" has not helped, either. One would think that one of Bush's first priorities would be to reward those great Americans who suffered so intensely under Clinton. It did not happen. Linda's phone never rang; her job was given to someone else. Linda Tripp has been treated as so much debris. She has received no kind words, no congratulations, no accolades, no rewards, nothing. However, Linda Tripp is an American hero! She represents justice and courage in a way that most people could only dream about.

It appears that heroes are not created equal. It is not enough that one is heroic; he or she must be heroic in a matter deemed politically correct. Therefore, Linda Tripp is left to live out her days in obscurity, without appreciation or honor. Instead, Linda has seen herself become the butt end of every late night comedian's act. She has been denigrated by the press, hounded by the Democratic Party, and abandoned by the Republican Party.

No, not all heroes are honored. Some, like Linda Tripp, must wait for a higher power to reward them. In the end, I suppose it is always that way. Real heroes do not seek the applause of others; their reward was found in what they did. They make most of us seem small – especially that crowd in Washington, D.C.

I wish she'd write a book. I'd buy it, and I'm sure many others would as well.

I wish she would too. Why hasn't she yet? Anybody know Linda to ask her?

Not to pass judgement or anything, but could it be that Linda Tripp is still unemployed because employers are reticent to hire someone who has illegally recorded private conversations, and then made those recordings public? A trust issue, perhaps?

No, Linda Tripp is unemployed because she can't get a non-government employer to pay over $100k to do the same job in the private sector. She was probably over compensated as a government employee and private sector jobs do not pay $100k for that skill set.

Has anyone ever noticed how Bush won't do anything to help anyone that was against and abused by the Clinton's? Bush won't acknowledge that the Clinton's were and are crooks. He won't let any real investigation get anywhere near them. He has kept the old Clinton guard in his out reaching administration.

Clinton's first cut when taking office was to get rid of all the Republican federal prosecutors and any our conservative employees, and this may be right, but Bush has yet to get us good hard conservatives in place, with the exception of those closest to him. If the Clinton name is brought up, Bush is out of there and it's less move on time. In this, Bush is a great disappointment.

GWB could give her work. How 'bout it George??

Not if she doesn't want it...

Feb. 21, 2001

NewsMax.com reports that Linda Tripp said in a radio interview that she doesn't want a job in the Bush White House; expressed disappointment that ex-President Clinton wasn't indicted; said he had several White House girlfriends; expressed her belief that the first lady knew about Monica Lewinsky; and confirmed rumors that Mrs. Clinton ordered staffers not to make eye contact with her.

The exchange between the Sexgate whistleblower and WABC Talk Radio's Sean Hannity lasted for more than an hour and included questions from listeners.

On rumors that President Bush had declined to hire her in his administration, Tripp said, "The last thing I want to do is create a nuclear situation for him" by working at the White House. "This is Clinton's dirty laundry. I'm suing the Clinton White House."

Despite the absence of a Bush White House job offer, Tripp had only praise for the new president: "President Bush ran on a platform of many things but one was a request to be elected, just to ask the American people to restore integrity and decency and honor to the White House," she said. "I have enormous respect for him."

Bush will not say anything about the Clintons, and how they did in their dismal eight years, any more than the first President Bush would say anything during those years. I notice that W might not talk about it, but his actions show exactly how he feels. I am not at all disappointed with this administration, just glad we have an A team running the show. I am so glad to have the adults in charge and know the Republic is safe.

Linda Tripp did not betray, Monica. Monica tried to get Linda to commit perjury. It is heroic to do the honorable thing and Linda did that. As a retired government employee, that is not an easy thing to do. In fact one of the first things that you hear when you enter govt. service is don't make waves, don't rock any boats and go with the flow. There are times when principle takes over and Linda had the principles to do the right thing. I have never given any credence to the liberal spin that she betrayed Monica. Monica has been given alot of opportunites by the same liberals who were out to hang Linda, for "betraying her friend". I think it was Monica who betrayed that relationship. I do wish Linda well and hope that whe can find a job that she can be happy in. SHe is certainly qualified and intelligent. I do wish that somewhere in the government she can get employed.

It's not just Tripp. Others took substancial risk of life as well. Among them Larry Klayman and Tom Finton. Yea I know the flames are gonna rise so what? Who besides persons like Bob Barr was going after Clinton before anything broke the news wires? Who dug up the evidence who did the research? Boxes upon boxes of depositions of Clinton operatives including James Carville himself done by Judical Watch were ignored not just by the DEM's the GOP as well bares blame on that one.

And please people don't start the who has Klayman jailed nonsense. He is a civil lawyer not a proscituting attorney. He used that as a tool to gather evidence through depositions in civil court. Who defended and advised Dolly Browning{sp}? Yet Klayman bashing is far too common in FR. What may seem to some as going against the GOP is an attempt to get the truth BTW of which the GOP has had it's share of helping cover up for the Clintons.

Larry Nichols another long forgotten name in the Clinton legacy. Yea there's plenty of them. Tripp deserved job protection under government abuse whistle blowers laws now on the books. Those who work in government must be able to expose corruption and abuse without fear of vengance. The GOP as the DEM's in the case of Linda Tripp failed in that respect.

That's defamation, sir. Her recordings were not illegal, and you are a pig for repeating this false accusation.

I was under the impression that she recorded telephone conversations without the other person's consent. That is illegal, as far as I know.

And what a pair you and I make, huh? A pig and an ass...

You are a cad and a liar, too: "Not to pass judgement or anything", is a bold lie of a disclaimer. For that evil is exactly what you are doing, and a spurious, medacious, false judgement at that.

You are certainly the brave one, saying things from behind your keyboard you would hesitate to say in person, knowing there could be consquences.

In fact, I made no judgement of her. I simply stated the facts of the matter, and extrapolated from there.

The word you want is "reluctant," not "reticent."
The word in the U.S. is "judgment," not "judgement."

Thanks.

So, are you admitting that you would have gone along with the Clinton/Lewinski lying and corruption----it's an honor thing.

I haven't admitted anything. You assume.
