Are the liberal Democrats becoming the black helicopter loonies of the new millennium?

Remember the black helicopter loonies of the 90’s? Linda Thompson, Mark from Michigan and the other crazies, remember how all their stupid ranting seem to stick to conservatives like Velcro? Those bozos created all sorts of credibility problems for anyone who spoke up about issues in the Clinton administration. Any time a conservative criticized the Clinton administration he or she would be dismissed as just another Clinton hating black helicopter loony. This dismissible conservative credibility in the eyes of the American public seemed to embolden Clinton to do what he damn well pleased without fear of retribution from the public, even to the point of lying to Congress and the American people.

Charles Schumer, Maxine Waters and others from the left appear have taken up the mantel of un-credible loonies whose words and actions are destroying any credibility the Democrats have when it comes to criticizing the Republicans and the Bush administration. Their ranting doesn’t seem to change Bush’s popularity ratings, in fact they make it look like the Democratic Party agenda is simply a sour grapes plot to get Bush.

Do the Republicans realize this? If they do realize this can they take advantage of the situation or will the innate Republican fear of doing something stupid turn into another round of not doing anything at all?

My apologies to anyone I missed.

There are vast and profound differences between the way Clinton critics were and are currently thought of, and the way Bush's critics have painted themselves into a corner. Bush's critics took standard DNC talking points, attempts at "Quaylization" of Bush, "GW is stupid" jokes, and simply false propaganda, and took it to heart. They believed their own manufactured frauds. They then wonder why they kept losing each and every political gambit they have contrived; witness their insane anti-tax cut rhetoric, their idiotic anti-energy stance, their regressive big government orientation, etc. etc. They were stunned that Bush did not become the cartoonlike image they had set up for themselves, and stunned that the public at large rejected that same phony image out of hand. They thought they were in charge of the public's imagination. No, not this time. They expected to be able to gin up controversy and perhaps even an impeachment out of sheer anti Bush bile, but no soap, doc. Attempts by Bush hating liberals and leftists to create Bush centered "conspiracy" cults failed, for lack of ANY facts or reality to base them on. They just don't get it. They can't make Bush look like Clinton.

Conservatives did not have to contrive anything to be able to point to mountains of evidence of the abuse of power and outright criminality on the part of the Clinton administration; as the Clintons provided scandal after scandal, replete with complex conspiratorial clues and linkages, almost daily for 8 years +. The Bushes are nothing like the Clintons, NOTHING like them. As long as the left continues to underestimate George W. Bush, they will continue to LOSE, and LOSE BIG with every political gambit they manufacture. In the meantime, as more and more facts come out, corroborating testimony by whistle blowers about the Clinton's perfidies, liberals will begin forget how they once supported Bubba and Hillary, lest they be implicated in the long and soiled legacy of the most corrupt man ever to hold the highest office in the land. Facts have a way of sticking around, like solidly fossilized impressions in stone, while leftist falsehoods disappear as soon as no one is bothers to repeat them.
