Berry recounted how President Reagan fired her in 1983 and how she fought through the courts to get back on the board. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. GWB should waste no time.

I just called the Civil Rights Commision and reported that Mary Frances Berry had violated the civil rights of Peter Kirsanow and asked for her immediate resignation.
The woman who answered the phone was a little confused by my report and obviously very po'd. Apparently the phone there is ringing off the hook. I got an answering machine the first three times, hung up on on the 4th call, and finally reached someone on the fifth call.
I believe president Bush announce immediately that Mary Frances Berry has been removed from her position for malfeasance in office by refusing to seat a rightfully appointed commisioner. He should release to the press the documents that state that Wilson's appointment was until November 29, 2001.
He should then appoint a replacement for the MFB and reconvene the Commission and have them toss their fictional report on the 2000 Presidential Election down the toilet.

Of course, if he wins reelection then it doesnt matter WHEN he wins reelection a precedent will have been set, if this is permitted to fly. It must be nipped in the bud now.

From the July 16th Washington Times "Inside Politics"...
Berry was speaking to the NAACP convention in New Orleans last week. She told the assembled delegates that, before Jim Jeffords departed the Republican Party and gave the Senate to the Democrats, "I was just wondering when Strom Thurmond was gonna die."

LIBERALS cause NAUSEA among us who are patriots of liberty. the commission should be scrapped as a shill for the liberal democrat party.

Havisham -- what e-mail address did you use when sending your letter. I received the following:
"A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: wwwadmin@usccr.gov"

Link to law in my reply #133.
The law, unfortunately, is not as clear as you might think.

Berry recounted how President Reagan fired her in 1983 Good. Time for an encore by President Bush.
To: Havisham
President Bush was well aware of what she is like. She just spent the better part of a year trashing his brother and his administration in Florida.
This isn't the most important thing, right now, and I think it was probably handled as best as it could be. Remember, you don't want a big scene on Friday, going into the weekend shows, especially with Senator Clinton so conveniently scheduled for "Meet the Press" on Sunday.
Have some patience.

As soon as this is settled Bush needs to designate a new chairperson who will investigate the real voting rights outrage in Florida: Criminal ballot tampering leading to the disenfranchisment of Republican voters. (Black republicans were 50 TIMES more likely than black democrats to have their ballots "spoiled". The same tendency, if less dramatically, holds for republicans generally.)
Black Republicans Suffered Worst in Florida Vote Count
GOP Was the Real Victim in Fla. Vote

Berry - a frequent critic of the 2000 elections and particularly of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, younger brother of the president - presides over a panel on which six commissioners lean Democratic ...Lean?

I think the "neglect of duty" clause should be used to bring action against those failing to seat the properly appointed replacement. A formal charge will bring this to a head. Paging Bob Barr.
To: ken5050
she'll file a complaint with the US Civil Rights commissionI think she may have a problem with that, too. The councilperson (white) is being replaced by a black man. Good Luck, Mzzzzzz Berry!

No, it isn't clear at all. This specific situation is not addressed. There has to be another section somewhere that covers this mess or at least some precedent or custom.

I'll give them a few hours before I begin a squeaky wheel campaign in the hopes of seeing only her elbows and ass in view on national TV as the Marshalls escort her out.Well, thanks and good luck. I went to their website during the Florida hearings and I found it to be the most bureaucratic maze conceivable. The Commission is clearly constructed so as to be untouchable, inaccessible to the people, and the most unchecked power in the Justice Department. It scared and depressed me that one visibly disturbed Commissioner was doing all she could to shatter racial goodwill and that nobody could correct this foam-flecked lefty's personally driven, and deeply neurotic agenda.

All communists have no respect for laws that work against them. Kinda' explaines "moral relativism" as introduced to our legal system by the clintons.
