Ramy Nasr, Muslim Student Association director of public relations, described Horowitz's speech as "prejudice, misinformed, misleading, very deceptive and contradicting." but offered no facts to substantiate his claim.

In other news, the sky is found to be blue and water quite wet.

Horowitz is certainly not breaking new ground on the subject...for my money the most surprising note is that he wasn't shouted down by leftist protesters.

Horowitz gave a similar talk at Cornell this past Monday night. While there were a few critical questions/comments from the audience, the crowd was surprisingly well-behaved and Horowitz had no problem making his point. A column in the following day's Cornell Daily Sun revealed that 21 of 22 registered voters among Government department professors are Democrats!

A pleasant change - Sept 11th has civilized even the most uncivil cretins. Ann Coulter had things thrown at her when she tried to speak at Duke.

That is surprising, considering Cornell is likely far to the left of Penn State. Funny how nothing more than civility on the part of liberals causes us to stand up and take notice.

No surprise there. Yet I'll bet Cornell, like most of our "elite" universities, prides itself on the "diversity" of its teaching faculty. Hogwash!

You can have 22 professors, each of a different nationality and with a different skin color, but if they all think exactly alike--where is the diversity?

What's even more surprising than the relatively polite behavior of the Cornell crowd was that an editorial the next day in the infamously liberal Cornell Daily Sun acknowledged the lack of diversity of THOUGHT on the faculty!! This is the same Sun that refused to publish Horowitz' ad on reparations because it was "racist", etc.

I don't believe faculties will become more diverse until parents of college applicants start looking beyond the relative prestigiousness of various colleges and start looking at the actual quality of the education and balance of views offered.

I for one routinely DISCOURAGE young people and their parents from applying to Cornell, my alma mater, and similar places, in favor of colleges with a more balanced faculty. If this became a trend, colleges would have to adapt, just like Cornell has been forced to build more attractive dorms to compete.

Surprising that Cornell treated him "nicely." They threw oranges at Ann Coulter, who is an alumni.

"My thinking is that his ideas, although well thought out, are more dangerous than good because they can be used to justify racial and ethnic discrimination, prejudice and imperialism," said Jameka Green (junior-journalism).

Unlike liberal "ideas" which only spread peace, love, prosperity and freedom. Yeah right.

No way! Why, you could knock me over right now, I'm stunned!!!

Next you'll tell me that all the major networks, and most of the major newspapers, are leftist! Say it ain't so!

Impossible! Why, when Dan Rather makes the news up he's careful to be unbiased. Right?

That was a great episode.

Yeah, Macalester College (my college) is super happy fun PC world. We recently got voted number 1 at "ignoring God" according to the Princeston Review.

Thank God I graduate in May :D

I like Horowitz more and more. I know first-hand how liberal colleges and universities have become. Years ago, students had a chapel break, where they went to the chapel and had a small service; now it's called Coop break. Sad, isn't it.
