I didn't like some of the phrasing of the questions...sometimes I agreed with the question, but not for the reasons they proffered. In those cases I put disagree. Not sure if the calculations factor in the reason they put forth or not. As in "A one-party state is better because it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system.". I disagreed with the part after 'because', but if that part wasn't there, I might not have disagreed.

Authoritarian/Libertarian: -2.10

Lots of those questions were f-ed up I thought. I don't know what my score means really, but I wasn't very libertarian according to the chart. I mean on the libertarian side.

See I think it's because of questions like should gays be able to adopt kids? No they should not. It's not libertarian to be opposed to gay people adopting kids?

economic/left/right - 1.63 authoritarian/lib...........- 0.72 what the heck does this mean..............

What this test and others like it mean (read: are designed to do) is that most of us are closer to being Libertarians than anything else and should therefore join the Libertarian party and give them money.

Most of the questions asked for simple answers to complex questions (For example: What time will the sun rise tomorrow? Yes or No) and thus carry little weight in the answer as two people could answer the same on a question, but have entirely different reasons for doing so. (Will the sun rise tomorrow? One person answers no because it will be raining, and another answers no because it will be snowing and another answers no because he lives in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.)

OTOH, this is the third test like this I have seen and taken and I always come out in the same position....Attilla the Hun was a pinko, commie liberal.

I didn't put "Strongly" on any answers that I can think of. I think "strongly" is a stupid adjective. IMHO either one agrees or disagrees. It's about reason, not passion. That probably kept my results somewhat moderate, but they fell into the area I thought they would.

I agree, and with a hard left bias to boot.

I felt dirty after takeing it.

To many of the questions were not clear and seemed slanted. Lies damn lies and statistics.

The very first question was so stupid that I never answered a question after reading it. I read about half the rest and hit the back button. A true waste of time.

I did exactly the same thing.

This was the most idiotic and manipulative thing I've ever seen.

I left with the first question myself, but I came back here and people were posting their scores, so I thought maybye it's some kind of f-ed up psychological test and the questions were of a design beyond me. So I tried again, but no it really was crap.

HAPPY! My political compass was almost in the center of the chart -- no extreme views, no huge shifts, just a healthy balance squarely "in between," neither extremely Autoritarian nor Libertarian, neither extremely Left nor Right. My red dot was close to the center of the chart, one square toward Authoritarian and two squares to the Economic Right.

My scores:
Economic Left/Right: 2.25
Authoritarian/Libertarian: 0.62

I knew I am a reasonable, practical guy!

IF THE BANNER AT THE TOP OF IT IS ANY CLUE

IT WOULD APPEAR that the NWO globalists are behind the survey. Does that mean they then file it all away and add it to our hard disk file? Ah well. Though should know plenty about me already.

I was Economic L/R 3.25, Authoritarian/Lib 0.87. Which put me in the Auth. Right box but pretty damn close to center. I think that test was bullsh!t because it used so many stereotypically-oriented questions... Didn't address some of the finer points of ideology...

Interesting test. Given the limits of questioning over the printed page, I also thought it was fairly accurate.

However, if you look at the graph they printed, they also say that Tony Blair is a conservative authoritarian based on how he governs. Draw from that what you will :)

That's the test. However, I don't think it originally had a "maybe" column.

Anyone?

I must agree on the questions being misleading. Kind of like "So when did you stop beating your wife?". They carried too many assumptions (If globalism is inevitable...), and had too much black and white yes/no types of answers where "it depends" would have been appropriate. Is sex equal to sinning? From a religious standpoint, it still would depend on whether it involved marriage.

I also didn't like the fact that there was no neutral answer; one could only agree or disagree.

Still, I ended up right where I thought I should. A little right and a little libertarian.

Economic 2.5 Right
Authoritarian/Libertarian -.15 Below.

Slightly Right Libertarian, although i think the questions are off some. There are many things I think are personally wrong, but the state shouldn't be involved in.
