"Because its easy to be Catholic, follow the rules if you screw up just go to confession and say a few our fathers."

Is it embarrasing when you try to appear informed but display your ignorance so clearly?

We will just ignore you.

That's one way to deal with the truth. You can be sure, however, the truth will not ignore you.

By your logic it is even easier to be a Protestant (or "Bible" Christian, or whatever you fancy yourself). One merely needs to sin and then ask God directly for forgiveness. No penance is necessary, no getting in the car and driving to the Church for Confession.

Of course, if you would like to discuss what faithful, adult Catholics and Protestants think of God's forgiveness and call to walk in imitation of Christ instead of stereotypes, we can do that as well.

At the turn of the last century the mainline Protestant religions agreed with the Holy Father that, Abortion is the killing of innocent life, Divorce is an evil women can not be ordained and Homosexuals can not knowingly be ordained either. Now 100 years later all over them have essentially drifted away from these positions and are finding it hard to fill their pews. The Roman Catholic Churh is the only large Christian Church that is growing both here and world wide ( if you are thinking that illegal Mexicans and other Hispanic Catholics can account for the growth forget it thats factored in for the USA). The others are shrinking - you explain it.
What meeting 100 years ago was this exactly where all this was agreed to? Can you be more specific?

Also, it appears that the Catholic Church has changed more than the protestant in the last 100 years.

Does your above comparison supposedly mean that Catholics don't have problems within, wanting women to be priests?

wanting homosexuals to be full Christians?

You certainly do .. and I know of no "Protestant" church that condones the taking of innocent life via abortion, but I do know some prominent Catholics in Washington that do.

So, as much as Hank KerChief or whatever his name is, is way out of line by throwing rocks at the Catholic Church on this thread about protecting the unborn; I would venture a guess that your comments above positioning the Catholic Church as the "better" choice among Christian denominations is no better ...
