I don't know how Republican politics got into this discussion, but I have a secret to tell you: America as we know it ain't gonna last forever anyway.

There has not yet been an empire built that has not fallen. I don't know what you think would save it, but whatever it is, you're wrong. Don't let the fact that it has lasted so long reasonably intact fool you. Maybe sooner, maybe later, maybe in our lifetimes, maybe dozens of generations from now, maybe in the next millennium, but someday "America" will be spoken of in the past tense the same way "Rome" and "Britannia" are.

I agree. The Republicans should adopt the moral relativism of the Democrats and liberals so our party can be just as successful as the Democratic party. Let's stand up for sex with anyone and anything. Let's help increase the numbers of people with STD's in this country. We don't have enough. And let's help to increase the numbers of children born out of wedlock. And why don't we stop being so hard on men who cheat on their wives, leaving them and their children in the dust? Thank GOD there are many men don't have antiquated views about sex and monogomy! Can you imagine what a horrible world this would be if all men saved themselves for marriage and were loyal to their wives? Who'd want to live in a world like that? I don't really know what you're trying to say here. What is this about engaging the enemy? Who's not fighting whom? I thought we were talking about if it's right or wrong for a teen boy to be having sex with a woman in her forties and if it's possible for him to resist her. I can't go along with you on that PJ. I have a 14 year old daughter. If she had a 42 year old male teacher that was drop dead gorgeous and a hunk and he had sex with her, I would demand the death penalty.

If I had a boy, I would feel the same way.

I think this whole argument about "reporting it" is moot, since it wasn't the kid who "reported having sex" with his teacher, but his mother. At least according to the article.

That's why they have laws about this stuff. Most horney 15 year old boys have more 'pressing' things on their mind than 'saving themselves' for a lifetime partner.

I tend to agree with PJ. If this guy's story is even partly true, she shouldn't be around kids, let alone being a teacher. But you have got to wonder why he came forward. I think it might have something to do with the fact that this woman appears to have a lot more money than the average teacher. He's likely got a lawyer looking for a legal shake down.
