Hmmm....Sharpton is planning to run for president. Is this going to be the platform on which he runs? How about using it as his campaign slogan..."We don't owe this country ANYTHING! America owes US!" If he should ever get far enough as to actually run for the highest office, this quote would make a wonderful Freeper sign for Freeping him wherever he goes!

(Could he actually believe that America owes him the Presidency?!)

Anything we can do to help, just knock.

Ditto that! I would love to see hope and optimism offered to black Americans instead of the usual "you can't make it" fare. Very cool, Trueblackman.

Trueblack is Trueblue. He's a new breed of Black American, and is not content to listen to the same old answers. There's a whole generation of Blacks who know that the Jacksons and Sharptons have provided no solutions, and have lined their pockets by keeping their own people in bondage.

What's particularly ironic is that Sharpton's laughable autobiography is "Go Tell Pharaoh." As in "Go tell Pharaoh to let my people go." If there's anyone who needs to "let his people go," it's Rev. Al.

Let 'em go, Al. Let 'em earn the same dignity and self-respect that's available to ALL Americans. Nobody needs you spewing your vile message of hate and division anymore. The only beneficiaries are you and your inner circle. Sorry, Al, but you're just not relevant anymore. Not with folks like Trueblack and Jesse Lee Peterson jumping the fence, and more following them every day.

I always thought this was one of the best things I've heard Rush Limbaugh say (paraphrasing): Stop telling black Americans they can't make it. Start telling them that the American Dream is also for them - because it is! (Sounds like a real racist, huh? <\sarcasm>)

It makes all the sense in the world. How does a black youth succeed when the message they hear every day is that someone or something out of their control is stopping them from making something of themselves?

Shame on Jackson, Sharpton and the reparations crowd for saddling their youth with that message.

The black middle class is one of the fastest growing groups in the country, if I'm not mistaken. To me, that's a sign that there are plenty of black people who are beginning reject The Jesse and Al Show. May there be many more.

My niece is black. She is very bright, and on her second year of a full-ride scholarship to college. She has been asked how her life has been impacted by racism. Her answer? It hasn't. (Something tells me I'm going to be hitting her up for a loan one day.) I'm glad SHE doesn't listen to the Jackson-like voices - she's a great kid, she's got a great attitude, and I know she's going to continue to do well in life. I wish more young black people could have the kind of encouragement she has had.

Dr. John McWhorter just published a book titled "Losing the Race." It's a wonderful exegesis of the "entitlement" mindset's functioning.
