CBS NEWS VETERAN CALLED 'TRAITOR'; WRITES BOOK EXPOSING ELITE BIAS **World Exclusive** In the first defection of its kind, a 28-year veteran of CBS NEWS has written a tell-all book which names names and exposes elite media bias and slated coverage of events. The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained the first copy of BIAS, A CBS INSIDER EXPOSES HOW THE MEDIA DISTORT THE NEWS -- an explosive new work by CBS NEWS veteran Bernard Goldberg. The book set for release in January, presents an unprecedented blueprint of media bias as documented by an insider. "Bernie Goldberg is a G-ddamn traitor," a CBS NEWS executive said late Friday. "The book is trash written by a bitter man who is now determined to settle a score." Writing that he's never voted for a Republican for elected office, Goldberg exposes the bias he witnessed first hand during the nearly three decades he spent at the network. Goldberg zeros in on CBS NEWS anchor Dan Rather and current CBS NEWS President Andrew Heyward, who is quoted as saying: "Look Bernie, of course there's a liberal bias in the news. All the networks tilt left." MORE
I do know more and more folks are going pirate, video as well. That's definetly wallet-oriented. The net is the best, as long as it stays up, and I'm all for radio nets as backup and in addition to. Not holding me breath on the supremes doing their thing past this hesitant "living breathing document" they always stretch around. It's backwards anyway, the laws shouldn't go into effect until AFTER a review if any sort of common sense ruled.
That's one of the two things I would have changed if I had been one of the founders writing and arguing back then, that and the "promote the general welfare'. GEEZ, just that little wiggler has caused HUGE amounts of trouble, I want to go back in time and whack some wigged dudes with the stupid stick on that one..
So, there's only two options, take over a broadcast network, or scare the ones remaining so bad they start to get it "right". Fox kinda sorta is headed in the right direction, but still...... it needs to happen, even if it's 'entertainment" it would still be better than getting PO'ed every night. And it would be far less dangerous..
;^)
Bernard Goldberg has been a thorn in their side for years. He actually had the nerve to mouth off when the SinkEmperor was firmly astride his throne [early 1996!]. This could have cost him big-time, including a friendly little IRS audit, etc., etc.

CBS Reporter Bernard Goldberg Charges Colleague, Media with Liberal Bias
This month MediaWatch planned to include an article about CBS reporter Eric Engberg's February 8 CBS Evening News "Reality Check" attack on Steve Forbes' flat tax. But one of Engberg's colleagues beat us to it. In an unprecedented February 13 Wall Street Journal op-ed, CBS reporter Bernard Goldberg said that "Mr. Engberg's report set new standards for bias." Reaction was swift: CBS News President Andrew Heyward tagged the charge "absurd."
Goldberg began by observing that one reason fewer people are watching network news "is that our viewers simply don't trust us. And for good reason. The old argument that the networks and other `media elites' have a liberal bias is so blatantly true that it's hardly worth discussing anymore. No, we don't sit around in dark corners and plan strategies on how we're going to slant the news. We don't have to. It comes naturally to most reporters."

Amazon ranking 10 hours later: 15.
Still, most journalism is little to do with fact (or 'non-fiction' as you originally referenced). The lamestream is mired in FICTION (and ideology), not factual analysis.
Incidentally, I do not disagree with your other more general observations about the hubristic choices offered (imposed, really ...) by the media elites.
This is very much a converse case and the hero is a lamestream zero ....
I think he is Afghanistan hoping to die a martyrs death.
I vote for seven....no...twelve. I can't control myself.
I'm thinkin' infinity, man! It's time to take the whole damn world!
Not at all. Just ask Ted Turner.
I'm looking for a good source for x-large condoms. Suggestions?:)
