CBS NEWS VETERAN CALLED 'TRAITOR'; WRITES BOOK EXPOSING ELITE BIAS **World Exclusive** In the first defection of its kind, a 28-year veteran of CBS NEWS has written a tell-all book which names names and exposes elite media bias and slated coverage of events. The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained the first copy of BIAS, A CBS INSIDER EXPOSES HOW THE MEDIA DISTORT THE NEWS -- an explosive new work by CBS NEWS veteran Bernard Goldberg. The book set for release in January, presents an unprecedented blueprint of media bias as documented by an insider. "Bernie Goldberg is a G-ddamn traitor," a CBS NEWS executive said late Friday. "The book is trash written by a bitter man who is now determined to settle a score." Writing that he's never voted for a Republican for elected office, Goldberg exposes the bias he witnessed first hand during the nearly three decades he spent at the network. Goldberg zeros in on CBS NEWS anchor Dan Rather and current CBS NEWS President Andrew Heyward, who is quoted as saying: "Look Bernie, of course there's a liberal bias in the news. All the networks tilt left." MORE

If the news outlet that he worked for has bias, and he knew about it.. why did'nt he write this book before or at least write a newspaper article,He did. See #71 above.

Hey, I'm writing a similar book right now! It's called, "Obvious facts some people refuse to believe" Chapter 1: You still can't multiply wealth by dividing it. Chapter 2: George Bush IS President Chapter 3: The United States never initiated a war in the year 2001 Chapter 4: The USA was founded upon christian principles. Chapter 5: Guns do not jump off tables and shoot people. ...and so on and so on... Waddaya think? ;)

Could this hurt the medias credibility? Oh, never mind -- they don't have any credibility.

Old news (but good to see again).
I saw Bernie Goldberg on CSPAN months ago discussing his new book about the liberal left-wing left-leaning main-stream news media.
I also once read a scientifically significant poll that concluded that something like 94% of all main-stream news journalists had never voted for a conservative candidate in their life. Then the poll disappeared from the internet and I've never been able to find it again, go figure?
Anyone in their right mind should know the news media are just to the right of the communism anyway.
I agree with Ph.D. Dr. Michael Savage, who states liberalism is a mental disorder. Even about half the people on Fox news make me puke.

I thought Bill Sammon of the Washington Times did a wonderful job in his book about the election. Sickening to see it in print....all those vile things you knew in your heart the media was doing were true.

CBS President Andrew Heyward took the apostate newsman off the air for two months and canceled his regular feature, "Bernard Goldberg's America." GASP!! Do you mean that he was ... blacklisted?

For years and years they lied, denying any bias. Now that their viewership is plunging, rats are abandoning ship. I wonder if the whole Clinton episode hasn't shaken liberalism to the core - those who are not entirely beyond the reach of reason and decency starting to peel off. Remember Dan Rather's attack interview on Bush 41? How many people know that this was planned by a producer who had spent years working for democrats on capitol hill? Or that most network news producers and staff have come through the revolving door of democrat hill staff of the likes of Senator Kennedy?

He is a traitor to the charlatans who pose as jounalists.... No, he's a traitor to journalism. Journalism is nonfiction entertainment, nothing more. The fact that people fall for the con that journalism is "the truth" is the problem.
There is no constitutional right to know the truth. To the contrary, there is a constitutional right for people to be wrong at the top of their voices. Consequently if you want truth you must dig for it, and read between the lines where necessary. FR is an excellent source of diverse opinion to help you in your search.
Mainstream journals' business plans include avoiding controversy with other journalists, since that would call the vaunted "objectivity" of all journalists into question. And hyping "objectivity" is an essential part of the way journalists market their product. Hence the craven lack of diversity in journalism.

--my opinion, what REALLY needs to happen, is at least one network completely lose it's FCC monopoly frequency broadcast license for violating it's terms of serrvice, chronically. Perhaps with at least one main industry insider willing to talk, others may follow, and there can be a lawsuit or six. Class action or dotgov sponsored, I do not care, but one of them needs to go, to scare the other ones to report straight neutral news. Not any wussy fine either, lose their freek-ing license. It amazes me there come up for review, zilch happens, you got to know they have THOUSANDS of complaints all the time, but nothing happens except WHAM, rubber stamp for another year, they get to make a zillion more bucks, and thoroughly screw with the political system in this nation.
