Go to any Circuit City store between November 26th and December 31st
and videotape your holiday wishes and messages of support
for the extraordinary men and women
serving overseas in the United States military.
Some of these messages will be broadcast on CBS prime time television
and copies will be provided to the U.S.O. and Armed Forces Network
so that they may be shown to our military personnel abroad.
For family members with a valid military ID,
your personal message will be recorded onto a DVD,
for you to send to your loved ones serving our country.
We are proud to provide this service free of charge.

No harm in double posting this, is there? It's small.

Corporate employees of Circuit City and CarMax expressed support for the U.S. military during a videotaped 30-second message. (P. KEVIN MORLEY) |
|
Corporate employees of Circuit City and CarMax expressed support for the U.S. military during a 30-second message videotaped by Larry Gordon at the retailer's headquarters yesterday. The recording is part of the "Message from America" program that Circuit City and other companies, including CBS and Sony, are sponsoring.
The public can go to any of Circuit City's 600-plus superstores to record a 30-second message to the troops. Those messages, plus the one recorded yesterday by Circuit City workers, will be compiled and aired at military installations and as public service announcements during prime-time programming and sporting events.
Also, family members of deployed military personnel can record a free five-minute video message on a DVD disc to be sent to their loved ones. Those recordings can be done at Circuit City stores as well as at about 100 military bases, including Fort Lee and the Norfolk Naval Base. The program began yesterday and ends Dec. 31.

A good friend of mine, who served on this boat:
USS BATFISH SSN-681, works for Circuit City near Atlanta. Maybe I'll send this to him.

I just turned into 870 am just to hear Dennis Prager. I missed her. I was listening to Mike Savage.

What a great idea! Thanks for the ping.

That was an OLD thread... Snow Bunny was on Hugh's show almost a month ago, on 10/31/01.
BUT... that gives me a WONDERFUL IDEA!!!
Hey, Snow Bunny! Can you call Hugh Hewitt AGAIN? (1-800-520-1234)
He DID say for you to call back "in a couple weeks" - and it has been MUCH longer than that!
THIS TIME, though, we will post a BREAKING NEWS thread BEFORE you go on the air!
What does your schedule look like - from 3 to 6 pm (California time) - some day this week?

Have the grunts been allowed to take their DVD players out into the field with them? Unless there is a community DVD player available to them, I'm not sure how many of them are going to be able to play the DVDs they get.

The commercial Circuit City is running about this shows servicemen and women holding the player, indicating it's supplied along with the DVD's.

It would be nice to hear her. Sorry I missed it. I will be working tomorrow from 12-3 p.m. through Friday. So I won't get home in time to perhaps call in. But if she will call in perhaps I can bring my boombox along to hear somehow.
To: Ligeia
I saw that commerical. It brought tears to my eyes. I'll be headed down to CC with my kids tomorrow.
To: Ligeia
Seems logical to me.
(I looked at one of those portable DVD players myself but didn't get it - I ended up upgrading my current laptop instead to play DVDs for about a Franklin).
