Circuit City: "Videotape your holiday wishes and messages of support to the troops, for FREE!"
www.MessageFromAmerica.com ^ | 12/26/2001 | Circuit City

Posted on 11/27/2001 6:11:12 PM PST by RonDog

Go to any Circuit City store between November 26th and December 31st
and videotape your holiday wishes and messages of support
for the extraordinary men and women
serving overseas in the United States military.

Some of these messages will be broadcast on CBS prime time television
and copies will be provided to the U.S.O. and Armed Forces Network
so that they may be shown to our military personnel abroad.

For family members with a valid military ID,
your personal message will be recorded onto a DVD,
for you to send to your loved ones serving our country.

We are proud to provide this service free of charge.

Anybody wanna stop off at Hooter's???

This is wonderful news, but I would like to hear from those who are accepting this offer. Maybe there is a conflict with the expression "the best things in life are free," versus, "there is no free lunch."

The latter quotaton has proven to be more realistic. I want to believe in good hearts, but look at what corporate America has done since 9/11. Let the buyer beware.

"there is no free lunch"

The "catch" is, Circuit City hopes that you WILL BUY THEIR STUFF while you are there - out of gratitude, or goodwill, or convenience. If you question their intentions, you can always "beat the system" by NOT buying anything while you are there.

Or you can REWARD them for this wonderful program by patronizing them, so that they (and others) will do it AGAIN!!!
(Ain't free enterprise grand?)

There are SOME people who will support our troops no matter what. Looks like the management and staff of your local Best Buy is on that list. Patronize them both to show your appreciation. (you could send me any excess computer pieces you buy... ;)
