[history]
November 25, 2001 -- The FBI is close to making the first arrests on U.S. soil directly linked to the Sept. 11 World Trade Center terror attacks, The Post has learned.
The arrests could be in New York City, possibly within days but certainly within two weeks, sources say.

The press is the propaganda wing of the Federal government. Loosen your tin-foil. The press gets used by many people. Not just the government.

Don't remember hearing anything regarding screeners who let the terrorists board at the airports.
They wouldn't have left such an important detail to chance.
Have I missed something in the barrage of news since 9/11??

Good choice, and of course, they are the usual suspects.
I suggest a military style tribunal for the both of them.
As it is the case most military tribunals, execution seems like a reasonable sentence for these bums. Their past crimes should be added to the charges to ensure such an outcome, and these two have commited lots of past crimes.

It's hard to see the benefit of this kind of information getting out to the public. They may be trying to make the suspects nervous, so that they will make a mistake. The real truth may be that the FBI doesn't really have enough to make an arrest (or be sure of a conviction).

I guess your assuming that he released this info. which is highly unlikely.
There are plenty of Clinton hanger-ons in the Bush Admin.. Occasionaly they feed them sh*t to see where it falls.
Then they know who not to trust.

They could face 20 years to life in prison if convicted on a wide range of possible charges.I'd prefer to see them burned alive in jet fuel.

They also could be tried in a special military court behind closed doors under new provisions ordered last week by President Bush.So you folks in favor of military trials right here on american soil?

I think mis-information is being parceled out also, specifically between Pentagon and State Department. They find the leaks and the journalist who post the stories become not credible.

Hi there, Glenn. I agree with you. The law enforcement authorities often have REASONS to release this type of info to the press, as they realize that those under heavy duty surveillance will act in accordance with their criminal profiles.
I am glad to hear this information, for I intuited that the structural foundation of the 911 kamikaze creeps could not have instantaneously evaporated. The feds agreed with me, and they found it.
NICE way to wake up.... uh, I hope I'm NOT *dreaming* - better get some coffee FAST. This might turn out to be a great week!

I thought the same thing at first blush -- but it seems obvious that they
want the quarry to attempt to run for it (for whatever reason, perhaps to also get any others that might be helping them now).
If they put this out into the media, then they've got these guys under watch every second of the day and they aren't worried a bit about them slipping out. This was a plant story -- this story is one that is specifically put out there for someone(s) in particular to read and act on. The rest of us become just voyeurs in this communication.
