FYI the Portland airport is within walking distance from UNO's ... I wonder if they were staying at the Embassy Suites right there.

pay close attention to the wording of author, Laurie Mylroie, whom has nailed some very important critical evidence linking Terry Nichols, the Phillippines, and the nation of Iraq--she is pulling no punch's in her presentations, and statements.Hey old buddy! ;-)
Thanks for the info. I've been reading some of Laurie Mylroie's work that was posted here on FR. Here's an interesting article.....(it's the third of four parts)
SPECIAL REPORT
US lists 23 intl terrorists who regularly visit RP
By Dorian Zumel Sicat, Correspondent , Karl Kauffmann and Christine
Carranza, Reporters
It includes the following......
That Terry Nichols would be in the Philippines is not strange. He has an
ex-wife and a wife here. That he was here with Timothy Mc Veigh and that
the two of them had met with mid-Easterners and Filipino Muslims in
Ermita-Malate, and in Davao City, is altogether another matter. Tessie (surname withheld on request) frequents Woods, a restaurant on
Mabini Street in Ermita. She remembered Mc Veigh when she saw his
picture on a CNN newscast on the day of his execution.
She recalls being shocked. He (McVeigh) and a man named Terry used to
be here all the time. Terry had a Filipina wife or girlfriend. Sometimes they
would meet with Arabs and some Muslims from Mindanao. They would
always sit outside. And they talked very softly in their meetings. When it
was only Terry and that McVeigh they would drink beer. They were
friendly.
But one time I heard this Mc Veigh say in a loud voice to an Arab and a
Filipino, That will cost lots of money. I did not know what they were
talking about, but McVeigh was serious, I think, Tessie said.

They need to reopen the investigation into the attack on Oklahoma City.

The Kabul discovery should force the release of those tapes and a revival of the search for the John Does. Don't hold your breath.
John "Do Nothing" Ashcroft surely knows all of this if you and I do and could have moved on it long ago. The fact that he hasn't shows clearly that he can't or won't. The liberal media will never ever push this story since it would kill any possible resurection of a favorable Bill Clinton legacy. Without that pressure George W and Ashcroft will just let the sleeping dogs continue to sleep.
W's basic premise I presume is: "You can't handle the truth" America. I disagree with that but I see no progress in the right direction from this administration. And I mean NO progress. The Clinton administration is being protected "for the good of the country". What a joke.

As a jumpseater myself I need to immediately dispel the myth that one of the hijackers was in the jumpseat. He may have signed up to use it,but because the load was so light on all the flights that were hijacked that day,the Captain would have the jumpseater sit in the cabin. Most likely in first class. If the hijacker insisted on riding up front all the way to LAX or SFO,it would have aroused suspicion among the crew,I guarantee it.Jumpseating was how certificated airmen like myself got to work,it is rare that a crewmember lives in the city he or she is based. Thanks to 9/11, commuting by using airline reciprocal jumpseat agreements for certificated airmen is very difficult at best.Irresponsible rumor mongering like the hijack/jumpseat one make it very tough on airline employees trying to work.

If the OKC explosive included nitroglycerin and dynamite, is there any place where there would still be traces that can be tested for their presence? The Inspector General's Report on the FBI Laboritory indicated that not only was there virtually no ANFO residue at the site, but it also concluded that the bomb could have been made of Dynamite, since the FBI ignored the presence of Dynamite Wrappers and casings.
The FBI said ANFO only because Terry Nichols had bought some. To shape the evidence to fit the crime and "criminals" is called "FRAMING". Yet the Judge supressed the Inspector General's Report when the Defense sought to impeach the FBI "experts."
PS, I'm sure that McVeigh had a role, but we still don't know if he was the mastermind, or whether he just drove a truck.

Thanks for your reply. You make a very good point. Perhaps I was too hasty in questioning potential coincidences I discovered, but I felt compelled to point out facts which I discovered though documented sources which seemed a bit odd to me.

Release the videotapes and then everyone will know, I've been wondering about these since the McVeigh trial. As if we are supposed to believe they never existed.

It was simply material showing how to make such a bomb, they were probably impressed with it. I thought that, too, at first. But how does this get explained away?
If Al Qaeda knew more than the FBI about the formula for the bombs used in Oklahoma City, that would show that it was involved in the bombing.

From the Sunday Times UK article: But there is a more intriguing possibility. Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, his accomplice, were responsible for the Oklahoma bomb. Several investigators pointed out that Nichols had spent time in the Philippines and met members of Abu Sayyaf, an Islamic group connected to Bin Laden. Suggestions that the two bombers had been manipulated by an Arab terror cell were rejected by the FBI, but are still a source of speculation in America.

One cannot leave out the possibility that the cops wanted to make an arrest, ANY arrest, and that once they have made the arrest, their interest slackens. Also McVeigh--the old-American boy-- was a much safer arrest than a middle-eastern type. The last thing that the Clinton Administration wanted were suspects with obvious ties to the Middle East.

Being a Drag racer and knowing people who work for Racing fuel distributers ,I heard the Bomb was made up of Nitro -Methane and fertileizer.I heard McVeah tried to buy 110 gal. of Nitro from a VP (thats a co that sells racing fuels)REP,The guy had a feeling something wasent right didnt sell it to him.Reported the insident to the FBI,saying he KNEW this guy WAS NOT a racer. The feds either blew it off or LET IT HAPPEN.I heard he acquired it some where else.
