Facing the truth about the Saudis
Boston Globe ^ | 11/18/01 | Jeff Jacoby

TO HEAR Prince Bandar tell it, Saudi Arabia is devoted to the United States.

''Our role,'' the Saudi ambassador said in a CNN interview some weeks ago, ''is to stand solid and shoulder-to-shoulder with our friends, the people of the United States.... In 1990, when we needed your help, you came through for us. And it's our turn now to stand up with you.''

Jeff Jacoby is a bald-faced liar.

Prince Abdullah and King Fahd immediately called President Bush and expressed condolences, outrage and support followed by correpondence reinterating same.

The Saudi Embassy in DC website posted a letter to Americans expressing their grief, condolences and support.

Every Saudi website I have checked (and I have checked plenty) have expressed their outrage and grief over the lives lost and the destruction of Sept 11th.

Jacoby is a great journalist. You are a well known Saudi agent. Probably a student on their payroll. Suggest you go back to Saudia. Jacobi is one of the finest journalist in the world. He doesn't LIE,LIE,LIE like you Arabs.

So did Saddam and Khadafi (I love the one who is too inept to promote himself to general, because it's impossible to spell his name wrong).

That was only the beginning of the Saudis' unhelpfulness. When Washington asked for background information on the Sept. 11 terrorists, the Saudis stonewalled. While 94 airlines agreed to identify passengers on planes flying to the United States, Saudi Arabian Airlines refused. A month after the attacks, The New York Times reported that ''Saudi Arabia has so far refused to freeze the assets of Osama bin Laden and his associates.'' Of particular concern was Riyadh's unwillingness to shut down the ''charities'' that are Al Qaeda's lifeline.

These are not lies. It is time for you to recognize that the Saudis are utter scum who deserve to be treated as such.

It's not a HER. Because Saudi women are still not allowed to communicate with men. They must be fully veiled in public, and are genrally treated worse than camels. I don't believe that a Saudi woman would be on the net. She could be beheaded for less.

So what if they did express a few polite condolences. Shakespeare once wrote about men who smile and smile and are still villains. I pray that the United States can find another source for our oil and get the heck out of Saudi. Their kind of friendship is one we don't need.

Dear Patria. We are not fools. We know that the english language web sites regarding Saudia are run by westerners, and paid for by Saudi PR firms. We also know that Saudi school and Arab language websites teach hatred for westerners and Jews in the most vehement forms. They put up a front on recommandation of their PR firms, but their true nature is evident in the internal communications, and Arabic language sites. Time to stop the charade. The Saudi monarchy has been trying to have it both ways. Support the Talibans and Qaedea, and buy off the American politicians, and losers in the press. The Saudis are liars and have been so for generations.

Here is the press release that Crown Prince Abdullah put out on September 13, 2001. I would say it is hardly the sort of statement that one would expect from a principle ally:

Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz today spoke by telephone with U.S. President George W. Bush and expressed his condolences to the American people, describing Tuesday's painful event as "a terrorist act categorically rejected and disdained by divine religions". He urged the President to exercise reason in these critical circumstances, pointing out the negative consequences of speculation in the media linking Arabs and Muslims with what has happened.

The Crown Prince reiterated that the Muslim and Arab worlds are totally disassociated from these acts, which are not committed by any sane man who believes in God and understands the everlasting message of Islam. Commenting that some people in the United States have been prejudiced by biased press coverage, and citing individual attacks against Arabs and Muslims, he nevertheless expressed confidence in the President's wisdom and that of the U.S. administration and of all honest people in the United States, adding: "We in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are fully prepared to cooperate with you in every matter conducive to revealing the identity of the perpetrators of this criminal act."

Here is another nice moderate statement from your buddy Crown Prince Abdullah:

In a pre-departure statement to SANA, the Saudi crown prince said: "Let Sharon do what ever he wants. Today might be his, but tomorrow ( if God wills) will be ours. Every drop of an Arab blood shed on our usurped Arab lands has its own price . . . ."

Please refute the specific facts that Jeff Jacoby cited and that are set forth in the paragraph I cited to you. I know you can't but try and give it a try.

I hope we can have constructive relations with the Saudis. I am, however, uncomfortable with relations with people who are brutal with their own people and knowingly harbor terrorists who live to kill Americans. The Saudis have blocked our pursuit of terrorists after every attack dating back to at least the Khobar towers. Of course the fact that these terrorists are on the payroll of the princes means that the princes do not want the terrorists captured. Right?

(When Washington asked for background information on the Sept. 11 terrorists, the Saudis stonewalled.)

They got the information together rapidly. As it turned out many of the so-called Saudi documents were stolen or forged and several of the "dead terrorists" were alive and well in Arabia or had died in the States a year before.)

(While 94 airlines agreed to identify passengers on planes flying to the United States, Saudi Arabian Airlines refused.)

I travel a good bit and haven't seen manifest information available since 1972.. Further, the Saudis as in Saudia Airlines are as cautious as EL AL re: security so as not to make innocent people targets.

(A month after the attacks, The New York Times reported that ''Saudi Arabia has so far refused to freeze the assets of Osama bin Laden and his associates.'' Of particular concern was Riyadh's unwillingness to shut down the ''charities'' that are Al Qaeda's lifeline.)

(The Saudis wouldn't freze the assets of innocent people without evidence. The NYT was blowing smoke. Remember the Aspirin factory in Sudan.. The US government froze that guy's assets and never paid for the destruction of the pharmaceutical repacking plant even after ALL the independent investigators proved that it was what it said it was)

If Bush et all thought the Saudis were guilty of this act of terrorism against us, they would have acted. AS it is, we propbably need to clean up Afghanistan and OBL may be a mouthy lunatic, but he didn't pull this off.

I personally doubt there will be another huge act of terrorism against us because the puppet-masters are to close to being exposed and I fear that may come as a huge and terrible surprise to ALL of us.

"Who benefits by destroying US-Saudi relations?"

I dunno. After we get through with Iraq, Iran, Libya, et al, we will destroy Saudi Arabia, which will be much more satisfying.

Wait your turn; we are coming. You're on the list.
