A Newport Beach high school principal apologized Thursday for the use of the Confederate flag during a Civil War-themed halftime show at a football game against Westchester High, a school in Los Angeles with a predominately African American student body.
The principal and student band director at Newport Harbor High School said the school used poor judgment by displaying the 7-by-10-foot flag at last Friday's event, a sight that angered several Westchester fans who came to Orange County for the game.

Heaven forbid that people would understand the War of Norther Agression, and actually get a truthful account of what happened.
Now granted, a marching band can't do alot, but at least they tried. Then the first thing that happens is an "apology" from the school. I am so tired of having to apologize for my heritage. I don't see the blacks apologizing for their forefathers selling them to others. I don't see the any other race/religion/people on this planet apologizing for their backgrounds. Why do I have to apoligize for mine?
Good grammer.
cutting language: remarks that mean the opposite of what they seem to say and are intended to mock or deride
The reason black people are upset by civil war flags is because they are still fighting the war, amongst themselves, just as they have for centuries.
I'm sure the principal's apology made the black kids trip back to the drug and gang infested trash dump they call home a lot more enjoyable. Especially after getting to spend a brief moment in civilization.
Well let's see. Drafted for labor, you say?
>A UNION surgeon, caught behind Confederate lines in 1862, observed the Army of Northern Virginia moving toward Sharpsburg and remarked in his diary on the presence of Black ConfederatesWell let's see. First, you have said in other threads that the blacks were not involved and not allowed to be involved in Confederate campaigns until 1865 and only after much protest. Then now you say that these 'slaves' were only used as support groups, when time and time again I have provided written letters from free blacks in the South volunteering for service within the Confederate Army as early as May 1861, provided the names of towns throughout the South where monuments stand to blacks that fought along side with other Southerners for freedom from the EMPIRE, and letters from Union soldiers attesting to the armed blacks within the Confederate Army. What do you want? A time machine to go back and see it with your own eyes before you believe it? Face it, after 135 years, and grievance after grievance piled up at the feet of the national government, the true testimony to what the northern Tyrant did to this nation is finally coming to light, and probably the greatest attempt of propaganda in the history of this nation is being shown for what it truly is..a lieWednesday, September 10Black Southerners in Gray, Richard Rollins, p11
At 4 o'clock this morning the Rebel army began to move from our town, Jackson's force taking the advance. The movement continued until 8 o'clock P.M., occupying 16 hours. The most liberal calculation could not give them more than 64,000 men. Over 3,000 Negroes must be included in that number...They had arms, rifles, muskets, sabers, bowie-knives, dirks, etc...were manifestly and integral portion of the Southern Confederacy army...promiscously mixed up with all the Rebel horde
A liberal's inherent racism always... finally.... breaks through their 'compassionate' talk. That's why I left the Democratic Party. If you quiz them enough on Affirmative Action, they will finally lower their voices and say, "We have to do it....after all....they're just poor [N-words] and are not capable like us".
I got tired of the 'soft bigotry' of people like you.
You are the problem....not the solution.
