This will be an long war. Doubtful it will be unending, which is where you and I part company. Elites cannot sustain overlong engagements of anything, especially elites who themselves are in the throes of a slow-motion revolution. I don't understand how you have missed this, but almost everyone is aware that there are many, many cells, many terrorist organizations, and a few terrorist-sponsoring countries. According to the Bush Doctrine, they are all fair game.
This is not a secret. President Bush stated as much in his speech before Congress. Cheney said the same thing today. WE ARE GOING AFTER THEM ALL.
That is why there is a LIST at the State Department. That is why other countries are gettting nervous. That is why we have far more troops and hardware in the south Asian area than are really needed.
We are going after them all, it is going to take quite a while, and we must stick with it if we want an improved and peaceful world for our descendents.
