NEW Gallup: Bush's Soaring Approval More Sustained Than Any In Presidential History
GALLUP ^

Posted on 11/16/2001 1:11:37 PM PST by hawaiian

"President Bush's job approval rating shows no sign of decline. The latest Gallup poll, conducted Nov. 8-11, measures the president’s approval rating at 87%. Bush’s job approval has remained at 86% or higher in seven polls conducted over two months. In the history of Gallup polling, no prior presidents have been able to sustain their high approval levels, with no apparent decline, this long." Full Story

And his polls can only go up with the recent success in Afghanistan. He might even break 90% again.

No prior President has had such a slime-bag of a predecessor to measure against.

IMHO, the greatest thing about W is that he doesn't care about these polls. Were he in the 40s he would be doing the same thing as he is now. Honesty is so sweet in that office. The stink of Clinton continues to fade....

Actually, in Zogby's wartime tracking, which is done daily, Bush's approval soared by 5 points from yesterday to today.

I wonder how much money the liberal media blew on that year-long recount of the recount of the recount study.

The Rats have to be choking on this. Billiary are probably having a hissy fit. I'm sure this will be in all the headlines tomorrow and all the network news outlets will be talking about it. (/sarcasm off)

$900,000 bucks on the recount. Here's my letter to the editor of my local paper (they were part of the consortium). I sent it in yesterday and they published it today.

Doesn't the consortium feel a little foolish now? Months wasted, money thrown away, just trying to prove that George Bush is not the legitimate President.

And what did you get for all your money? NOTHING!!!! Playing by the rules, Bush was, is, and always will be the legitimate candidate elected in the 2000 Presidential race.

In trying to bolster your partison bias, you have accomplished just the opposite. You have taken away any fuel the Democrats could have employed in questioning Bush's legitimacy during the 2004 election.

I find it so ironic that your study is released at a time when George Bush has approval ratings higher than any other President has ever enjoyed.

Futility, thy name is media.

LOL, although I agree with you, the polls for Clinton were high all of the time for some reason, although not as high as President Bush! Didn't he leave office with the highest approval rating of any President or some such unbelievable thing?
President Bush has always rated high with me, he has exceeded even my expectations however as a leader! Good for him!
Although he says he doesn't care about polls, I sure do, as they are a necessary evil in our country now.

Probably the primary reason he can get away with confecting by EO fiat military tribunals to deal with suspected terrorists.

I think they're gonna use this "war" for all it's worth.

You need a little lesson in patriotism, buster.

Did you not pay attention to the Clinton Cult of Personality who enabled him to rule the world with one hand behind his back (or between an intern's legs)?

Popularity is EVERYTHING, baby. I don't care what you heard about the numbers game during Clinton's tenure, now that our guy's in, we're going to the prom thanks to the polls!

Military Tribunals ...

“It’s a quick fix. Military tribunals are not the highest level of fairness or due process, but I believe they will have sufficient due process,” said Williams. “What President Bush is trying to do is avoid legal gridlock.”

Pity it will be with us in perpetuity.

I think what was always high, was Clinton's job approval rating. It never seemed to change because the economy was good. But his personal rating was always very low.
