Its a quick fix. Military tribunals are not the highest level of fairness or due process, but I believe they will have sufficient due process, said Williams. What President Bush is trying to do is avoid legal gridlock.
Pity it will be with us in perpetuity.

Military tribunals were used during WWII to try NAZI collaborators. President Lincoln's assassin was tried by the military. Hell, even the Supreme Court has upheld military trials.

In case you have not noticed, American citizens are specifically exempt from being able to be tried in this tribunal. It is not a Bush conspiracy to take away your rights.
