This thread and the pictures make me feel so good tonight...helps take away some of the pain of 9 11. Glad these 2 fine men are in charge of their countries and I have lived long enough to see new hope for the world once we are rid of the fanatic terrorists and WE WILL PREVAIL!

Thanks for posting the photos. That smile on President Bush's face is priceless (he is such a sincere man), and Putin looks like he's really relaxed and having a good time. Very cool.

Connelly AFB is right.
You know more about Texas than most Texans!

No, but I would to see Jiang wear that cowboy outfit after he made Bush wear that silly metallic polka-dot on blue thing... Oh boy, you should have heard them putting down Bush over at Democratic Underground over that jacket. There's nothing he could do ... it DID look odd.

sounds like a wonderful dinner. The Pres. is so cool, check out the grin in the truck, you just know he is inseventh heaven. How refreshing!

I wonder why Tony Blair wasn't invited or maybe he was and chose not to go. Pretty wild that Putin is the first. I bet people who grew up in the 50's would have never thought this would happen.

Mrs. Putin is a linguist --- nothing will be missed by her! President Putin is learning English. Interesting tidbit. Thanks. How do you learn about these things? :-)

Yep don-o, you are so right...very darn seldom did we ever cuss the rain in Idaho...maybe we'd cuss a little when we had hay down.

What are those things on Mme. Putin's sweater?? From here, they look like mice! I thought they might be like ermine tails ... good thing GW and Laura don't have India around to "go for the mice".

Thanks for the fine pics. Notice that the Russians are sleeveless or short sleeved?

Onyx probably stores interesting trivia in the brain, as I do. Putin is also fluent in German and a jet pilot, as well as a black belt in karate.
I have paid attention to Putin since he came to power. He is very interesting to me.

Real people, real leadership, in the real America.
A sight for sore eyes.
God is good.

I was on another message board full of kneejerks (not DU) and they actually put down Bush for not buttoning the top button and therefore embarassing our nation. (He did have the top button unbuttoned in one picture, but it was buttoned in the others...)
Talk about nitpicking! ;-)

Mrs. Putin is a linguistI trust that you mean that she is fluent in many languages.
Since Monica Lewinsky, that term could be mistaken as an insult.

Oh, I'll grant you that Ma Richards deserves such treatment. But isn't it delicious that the man who became her governor after whomping her in that election is now unquestionably the leader of the whole civilized world with ratings off the top of the charts ..... and she's relegated to doing the occasional potato chip commercial ...... HAHAHAHAHA!

I find it very interesting that Putin seems like he is going to be the most progressive leader in the country's history...especially so, given his background.
To: Greenpointer
Bush only drove him on his own land I think...from the helipod to the actual ranch....so seatbelts were not necessary.

With the exception of summer, you really can't predict the weather for any significant amount of time. I shouldn't talk. I'm here in Los Angeles and we had a nice hard rain last night ... first in a long, long time. Lookin' at a gorgeous sunset out my window right now. :-)

Oh I love this, sure wish I were invited to the Chuckwagon BBQ! Sounds so yummy! How great is this, driving Putin in a pick up truck! LOL! I just love this man!
Quite amusing this morning listening to the smirk in the voice of Greg Jarrett on MSNBC about the BBQ and the ranch visit." Well great", he said with disdain after hearing the reporterette tell about the plans, "Maybe he'll take him brush cutting" He and Chris what's her name were obviously making fun of the fried catfish on the menu. Such elitists!
