Thanks for your response. This illustrates the danger in taking as fact what witnesses claim. If what this witness says happened, happened, how did the engine end up on land if the entire wing broke off at its 'root' and flew off into the tail and into the bay? Wouldn't the engine be in the bay along with the wing and the tail?
Somewhere in the United States, Dr. Johnny Fever is back on the air at a station that just changed its format. He smashes a record in the booth and says, "No more elevator music."

I have stated nothing of the sort. I have said only that it is premature for you or I to rule in or out such a cause. Since that does not fit your theory, you now resort to name calling. Have a nice day.
It really is as simple as that. But a certain percentage of FR (probably smaller than it seems) is just hellbent on finding a conspiracy SOMEWHERE. Its rather sad, because I find those I know on the left (democrats, commies, and other assorted idiots) resort to conspiracy theories all the time.
I think its ok to idly speculate on conspiracies, I do it all the time. But I think there is a difference between speculating about the possibility of a conspiracy, and much of the conspiracy hunting we see going on here on FR.
I'll admit I'm crazy. It keeps me sane.
Your tax dollars at work.
Name calling? You have an amazing imagination. I never resort to name calling.
Only ignorant people do that when they can't think of a response.
But I'll give it a try. How's this:
Besides reading things that aren't really there, do you also hear voices, or perhaps have imaginary friends?

According to #269, National Park Service protects Gulls because they hear them laughing.
I've been involved in enough accident/incident investigations that not too much surprises me anymore. I've worked with NTSB-(technical)-types before and respect their experience and especially their methodology. What did surprise me was the nature and timing of statements by and in reference to the NTSB. Those were enough for me to raise my eyebrow.
Picture this....
The NTSB has determined flight 587 has been investigated thoughly and the results show a ___ bomb had exploded inside the plane around the area of the left wing, killing all aboard.
There is no reason to feel alarmed.
Our airspace is safe, and have a nice flight.
The flying blades then cause damage to whatever they hit, including the tail, the wing, and the fuel tank inside the wing. The damaged engine (or the more damaged engine, if both took a bird strike) falls off the airplane.
You then have two falling parts, the engine and the piece of the tail. Both are moving forward at 200 MPH at the moemnt they come off the plane. Which one will hit the ground at a point closer to the runway? Most likely the tail section.
Do a thought experiment, as Einstein called it. The engine is now basically a rock. The tail section, however, is still an airfoil with a large surface. Momentum will carry the engine forward as it falls. Air resistance will bring the tail section to a halt in the forward direction so it stops moving forward, and falls straight to the ground.
Imagine throwing a metal ball and an aluminum pizza tray at the same time at 200 MPH. The ball will travel farther forward than the tray, though the tray will take longer to hit the ground because wind resistence slows it on the way down, as well as stopping its forward momentum. Got the picture?
The fact that the upright section of the tail wound up in Jamaica Bay and the engine wound up in Rockaway, does not lead to any conclusions about how this aircraft was destroyed. It only demonstrates the difference between the descent of a compact, heavy object and a lighter-weight, large-surface area object from an altitude of 2,000 feet.
I'm just putting in laymen's terms a vigorous discussion of physics from yesterday's main thread. Trust me on this. I was a physics major at Yale until I realized that liberal arts majors had dates on weekends, drank beer, and had lives.

Paradox, the very reason that this forum exists is because it is the last bastion of truth in our age, the information age. Our kind, Freepers/conservatives, have been designated by fate to stand up to tyranny. The left being, of course, the very embodiment of dishonesty, is our primary foe. But their stench permeates our government still. I'm not convinced that GW has the capability of ridding us of that evil quite yet. If you think that the people who are able to see through this concocted BS gov't story are in the minority here, perhaps you need to find a different forum. The fact is, the vast majority of the folks here KNOW what didn't happen. Happenstance, or birds if you like, call it what you want, was not a party to this event.
