*** ORDER NOW *** "The Ballad of Mike Moran" (kiss my royal Irish ass)
the website for the song ^ | 11-10-01 | dfu

Posted on 11/10/2001 10:49:38 PM PST by doug from upland

Ladies and gentlemen, the website is up and can now take orders. THE BALLAD OF MIKE MORAN is an inspirational song honoring Mike, his heroic brother John who gave his life doing his duty, and all the others who gave their lives in the cowardly terrorist attack on our nation. And, it is an in your face expression to Osama bin Laden, whose head we will have on a plate, as he is told ---- "kiss my royal Irish ass!" A segment of the song in MP3 will be on the website as soon as possible.

***** ORDER THE SONG FROM THE WEBSITE ***** www.firemansong.com

All net proceeds of U.S. CD sales are going to go to a fund established to help NY firefighters and rescue workers. We have asked Mike to give us direction in that effort.

Mike had seen the lyrics and told me he loved them. Vetnet sent him a dozen copies a few days ago to share with his buddies at the station.

FReepers everywhere have volunteered to get copies into the hands of radio personalities. Thanks for all the help. Now, let's roll!

Vetnet is co-writer. He did the re-write with me and came up with the suggestions that really set the tone and made it work, particularly near the end of the song. The input was invaluable.

Yep, I am still in awe of how Vetnet got this produced so quickly and so professionally.

Net U.S. CD sales will go to a fund as directed by Mike Moran. We have asked for his help to determine where money should go.

Mike contacted me to say that he loved the song when he saw the lyrics and heard the music. Vetnet sent him a dozen CDs.

This is a costly proposition. If anyone has any ideas for a corporate sponsor, we'd like to hear. An Irish whiskey producer or a dreaded tobacco company might like their logo on the jacket as a sponsor.

Just a reminder, the link from Rick Dees provides audio from Mike Moran's original remarks at the "Heroes BOO Hillary" VH1 concert that many people have heard: "Osama bin Laden, you can kiss my royal Irish A$$!"

THIS new audio CD is a PROFESSIONAL recording of a song written by Doug from Upland - to the melody from a CLASSIC Irish ballad, the "Wearin' o' the Green," and sung by Irish tenors, the "Chamber Made Players!"

I heard an advance copy.

This will be HUGE!!!

He didn't yell at Hillary, but he made a really well-deserved derogatory comment about her on a radio interview.

Thanks, Tonk!
Mike's brother John Moran, who was killed on 9/11, was long-time FReeper BCM, which stands for "Battalion Chief Moran," right?

And newbie FReeper BCM - FIL is his "Father in Law," John's wife's father?

Hi RonDog! Sorry I don't have time to respond these days, but fortunately Doug (from Upland) always seems to say it best anyway!

>>>>"Net U.S. CD sales will go to a fund as directed by Mike Moran. We have asked for his help to determine where money should go."

We have suggested two already and definitely want his input to find more for us.

Thanks to everyone for all your appreciate and support!-----It beats drinking all this coffee to keep going!

Thanks, Vetnet!
I understand that L.A. talk show host Larry Elder has played this "on the air" LOCALLY.

Any chance that we can get Matt Drudge to play it on his program tonight NATIONALLY?
(Is he broadcasting tonight from LA, at KFI?)

Matt doesn't have a copy yet. I understand that Malzberg has one and was giving one to Hannity. Where is breaks on their show, it will get attention.

Larry Elder has played it twice, the second time giving the 800 number. A new 800 number is coming at the beginning of the week.

Doug McIntyre also played it on KABC.

People at KFI have copies. Please contact them and ask them to play "the fireman song."

ATTN: any Notre Dame alumni or someone with a Notre Dame contact

We want this in the bookstore and played on their campus radio. Who can help? Also, who can walk around campus playing this on a boombox?

How about other "Irish heritage" universities???

Forget cigarettes and booze.
How about talking to Bailey's IRISH Cream as a sponsor, just in time for their MASSIVE holiday ad campaign?
