[history]
Like Britain in 1939, we're at war but not yet in it.
That was an interesting speech President Bush gave last night in Georgia. Its subject was homeland security, and in terms of content, style and tone it seemed to be, essentially, nothing new. And yet by the end and after reading it, I thought: He's telling us a great deal here.

I think her instincts about GW are absolutely correct. When he said "let's roll" I was really struck. It is going to be a long haul and it doesn't end with Afghan. It's incredible that CBS and NBC still don't get it. Just unbelievable.

I would also like to be added to your ping list for Peggy - uh...your yet-to-be-set-up ping list. LOL. I love this woman - she writes beautifully and she seems to be able to see into the soul of our wonderful President. In other words, she "gets" him. So do we. Amen.

But for now until the next shoe drops...Or next city or major metropolitan area is bombed or poisoned.
While Miss Noonan chooses to dwell on the inevitable outside threat from the likes of Saddam Hussein, it is the threat of domestic Musllim terrorism planted from within that presents the most viable and accessible threat to our freedom.
NOTE TO HOMELAND SECURITY: As most of us would ask for the upteenth time -- immediately deport ALL aliens from known "terrorist states", including those attemping to circumvent our dragnet through loopholes via 2nd and 3rd party visas; Investigate, prosecute and arrest or deport ALL "American"- Muslim organizations which display and/or support hostility towards America; Close down that sieve of a US border once and for all until the INS is able to enforce thoroughly AND correctly a new exclusionary immigration policy.
Let's hope common sense supercedes political correctness when American lives depend on it.

Thanks for the flag. I would have missed it otherwise.

ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON, as usual.
PRAISE GOD FOR PEGGY NOONAN! AND KEEP HER SAFE AND ACTIVE!
If Cheney leaves early as rumored, I wonder if she could be persuaded to take the spot? That would frost a lot of Moslem cookies!
In any case, that choice is a crucial one. I pray it's not a globalist.
I believe Peggy both senses and knows the direction of the future and many of the specifics and that she, too, is not telling all she knows, not to mention all she accurately infers.

They certainly don't care a twit about life, including their own. In fact, as their dark evil master, they are champions of death--it is more their god than God.

"She paints a bleak picture of great trials ahead." Bleak, you say?
How else to look at what quite likely boils down to a choice between war without end, or the end of civilization?
