Here is the previous thread: BALLAD OF MIKE MORAN is recorded
THE BALLAD OF MIKE MORAN was recorded on Thursday and we are ready to ship CDs to radio stations. One of the big problems, however, is that some places may have trouble accepting mail because of the anthrax scare. Also, some may just ashcan the thing.
Vetnet and I are particularly interested in getting a copy immediately into the hands of Don Imus and Sean Hannity. Can anyone in New York deliver a copy to each of them for us? How about Rush?
In many cities, we may need your help to get them to people like Don and Roma in Chicago, Michael Medved in Seattle, Neil Boortz in Atlanta, Michael Savage in San Francisco, Mike Barnicle in Boston, etc.
Who can be of help in any of those cities?

100 cities is good.

If John Boy and Billy joined in it would positively help out bigtime. Primarily, but not limited to, the southeast and southwest. They are heavily involved in NASCAR, and NASCAR fans nationwide follow their show.

If you can mail it to me, I can probably see that it gets to Quinn, but I don't know if I can actually HAND it to him.
I know badray has met him, but...

We're hoping the website is ready today but there are only so many hours in the day.

Thanks. Did you get copy to Hugh Hewitt?
KRLA's office in Glendale could get it to him.

Yes, but the 800 number is going to being routed thru a larger phone bank this morning. We'll post news of this asap.
If anyone wants to make a web request, we're trying to get the website up and running by the end of the day. We'll post the news!

Hey Doug: I've contacted Neil Boortz' office here in Atlanta; no word yet but will keep trying. I don't know anyone who knows someone with clout so not sure if I will get anywhere with this but will keep trying. A lot of news stations are not accepting packages so this may be difficult unless I can find a contact.

To: Vetnet
Thanks. Please post it as "BREAKING NEWS" - something like:
BALLAD OF MIKE MORAN, "Osama, Kiss My Royal Irish A--" - order YOUR Fireman Song" here!!!

Can't we have a snippet to hear online?
What's on the flip side? (I know its a CD but it needs more than one track) An extended remix?
Doug from upland, I vote for a DFU single including Moran's closing fighting words - an alteration of the Ramones' "Rockaway Beach" (realvideo heavy-bandwith warning) comes to mind.
Osama, hitch a ride to Rockaway ...etc.

I spoke to "Amber" at WRRK Pittsburgh - phone (412) 316-3342. She said it's ok to mail one to Quinn, with a followup phone call Monday as a reminder. The mailing address:
The War Room
WRRK FM
650 Smithfield St.
Suite 2200
Pittsburgh, PA 15222
She said to write"ATTN Quinn and Rose, "Ballad of Mike Moran" enclosed" in lower left corner of package.
I haven't received disc in my PO Box yet for the contact to cover DC and WV. ?? I sent "vet" my HOME mailing address in case you guys used a shipper that wouldn't deliver to PO Boxes.
Still could use a Charlotte, NC Freeper. John Boy and Billy are now on 104 stations + internet stream .

Thanks. I passed the info on to Vetnet. I imagine that the mail is still experiencing significant problems.

Got the CD and thanks. The office and family love it. I am going to take it to the radio stations Monday, next week, and bug the crap out of them until they see me, listen to the CD and then play it. Each station will need a copy, so I will purchase the next ones.
GREAT JOB to you and Doug!!!

I am thinking perhaps we should try David Letterman. I know that is tv, but look at what he did the other night when the military was in teh audience.....he told them not to leave because he wanted to go with them to their base....and he said he was serious. I think he might play it for the audience. I can't say for sure though.
To: Eaker
Your money's no good, Eaker. Stations receive complimentary copies, so just let us know and we'll send more anytime you want to pass one on!
Thanks for the great work!
