Fresno Support our Troops/Counter-Protest Peacenik Rally 11/02/01

Tonight's Fresno "Support our Troops Rally" (which was also held to counter-protest the peaceniks that appear like clock work every Friday night) was such fun! There were only about 20 of us tonight altogether, but what we lacked in numbers we made up for in enthusiasm.

No media showed up tonight. I guess it must have been a busy news day otherwise. (Not!)

We chanted some of our past favorites such as "USA", "We support the troops", No justice, no peace", "We don't care what you say, We're going to bomb them anyway", and "All we are saying, Is give bombs a chance". We chanted a few new ones too, like "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Islam" (sung to the Beach Boy's Barbara Ann tune), and "USA, all the way".

I wish you all could hear the response we get from the people driving by! It's absolutely heart warming!

YOU WILL show up with your famous brownies, won't you? That way, Clovis_Skeptic will have to bring his daughter. That will add to the support group. We will win the numbers game yet!

Do you know of any group that would join us if we contacted them?

I don't know of any at the spur of the moment - (I am kind of slow you know). I will make a couple of signs and see if I can persuade some supporters to join us. I can offer them a LadyinRed brownie and take their picture and tell them mtngrl will chant the bomb-bomb for them but that is about it.

Wow, I just read this for the first time today--GREAT! I had no idea since I've been off line lately. I need to call my mom and ask her about it. What were the cross streets of this event?

Hey, tame, long time since we've seen you around here. :-)

We've been having our rallies every Friday night at Blackstone and Shaw. So glad to hear that your mom came upon the rally and joined in for awhile (last Friday was the one rally that I missed, so I didn't get to see her). We will be out there again tomorrow night. Hope she can join us. Does she need a ride?

My mom told me that she would probably not be able to attend, because of school or something. Thanks for the offer:-) I will mention it to her if we speak.
